I wanted this tree to look similar to one of our Christmas trees that we have in our family room. The official one has red cardinals sitting on nests, red ribbons, red apples, and a cherry beaded garland. So, I decided to make a mini tree here. I followed the template and tutorial by Qbee. What wonderful directions! Instead of making the treat box, I just made it into an ornament for our tree. I started out using some dp that I had in my misc bin which I thought would work for the tree look. The star on our tree is made out of twigs. I added the ribbon with glue dots to go all around the tree. I then tied mini bows and attached. I also added mini red buttons and rhinestones. I used the MS branch punch and added the bird. I stamped the bird from Studio G with black ink, colored it with my prismacolor color pencils, goo gone, and blending stumps. I then embossed it using clear powder. Cut out. I really thought the bird needed to be darker, so I used my red Bic Mark It pen to go over it. I like it much better. I added tiny specs of glitter to the tree also. I used the CB Houndstooth folder for the star and then used my CB star die cut to cut 3 stars out. I attached them using tacky tape. I added the star bling to finish. These are such cute boxes for ornaments or treat boxes. This will go on our Country Christmas tree this year. TFL! and thanks for the great challenge.
