Precious Metal Clay (PMC), is fine silver particles, water and an organic binder. Together, they form a workable clay. The clay can be sculpted, shaped, smoothed and then fired so that the water and binder burn away and you are left with a piece of pure silver. Pretty incredible stuff. Of course, the final piece is a bit smaller than the pre-kiln fired piece.

There are a number of online resources - I first heard about it through Rio Grande jewelry supply. Here is another: http://pmcsupply.com/
There are different types of PMC and a number of accessories. There are specialized small kilns available, but there are also other firing alternatives: http://www.silver-clay.com/firing.htm
