This is a layout I learned a LONG time ago, but I decided to make one today to teach at the class I'm offering in my home next month. I'm posting three pictures to show the front, inside, and "hidden message" views. To make this card, you first fold a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of cardstock in half, and then open it back up. Now fold both sides to meet in the middle (the card opening is vertical in the center of the front of the card). Next, open the cardstock back up and measure and then cut three horizontal cuts in the center of the card (the lines should be 1 3/8" apart, and 4 1/4" long). You also need to cut two strips of cardstock which measure 5 1/2 x 2 1/16" from coordinating cardstock. Once they're cut, you "weave" these strips through the cuts you made in the center section of the card. Decorate the front of your card as desired, and the inside as well. If you've followed my ramblings and have been able to assemble this correctly, your card should look similar to my inside view when opened. If you fold the card like a fan or accordian and then open from the center, you should have something similar to the "hidden message" view. If you have any questions, please ask!

Are you CERTAIN that the slits are supposed to be horizontal, because when I weave the 5 1/2 inch strips through them they are (1) too tall for the card, as if they should be woven the other way and (2) don't move when the card is opened.
