1) stamp the flourishes for icing on cake: If you line up your acrylic block with the edge of your paper, they'll line up perfectly parallel.
2) draw two lines: (one on each side to make the edges of the cake)
3) Trace something rounded: (to make the top of the cake. This is a creative memories oval cutter.)
4) Cut the cake: Heehee. :O) I love the edge this flourish makes. Who needs fancy punches? Well me, but... lol)
5) colour flourishes for icing: (I used brown CTMH markers, blended with colour on a waterbrush)
6) add glue pen details & glitter: (I love my Sakura Quickie glue pen & this is Martha Stewart Brownstone glitter...sparrrrkly)
7) pen emboss the pattern for gloss: Doodle on lines around the pattern on the DP with a clear Sakura glaze pen. This is a weird but fun way to add a little bit of gloss. I guess it's kind of pen embossing. I like that you can control it so well (unlike regular embossing) & it's subtle but it adds depth to the pattern.
and then you have a cake! Yum cake...:O)
the candle is made by cutting a piece of blue bayou stitched ribbon, removing the stitches, melting the end a fair bit (with a lighter.) Then I coloured on it with a white gel pen & coated the whole thing in Crystal Lacquer.
I also used black embroidery thread for the wick, & paper cut in the shape of a flame & covered with a think layer of Crystal Lacquer & Iridescent Ice.
Other card ingredients: Baja Breeze & chocolate chip cardstock; Patterned Paper: Unique Boutique-Vintage Paisley (UNI-236) by Dream Street Papers and Cosmo Cricket: Fleuriste-Cobblestone. Embellishments: Platinum Hodge Podge hardware (SU), embroidery with light blue & brown thread, more {Flourished Dove} flourish embossed on DP & glittered with Sakura stardust pen.
Thanks so much for checkin' this out!
:O)
