Roxi, my DS took a look at the sketch I printed out and said, well that's easy! It's just a bunch of rectangles!!!! Either he has great confidence in me, or he hasn't a clue...I'll take the confidence! I'll apologize in advance for the slightly off 90 degree layout...that's what I get for burning the midnight oil...crooked mats and a coverup!
I had a blast creating this card. I recently was given some awesome new DP from MemoryBox which I knew would be perfect for the scene I had in mind. I used Crafty Secrets clear stamps for the daydreamin' boy and sentiment. Both are inked on Neenah smooth white with TH di black soot. The sentiment is also embossed. I colored the boy with Copics and lifted from the bounds of my paper. The card base is GP white. I used a piece of SU baja breeze for the next layer which I stamped Cherry Pie's wonderful cloud stamp inked in Brilliance moonlight white on the top third of the baja breeze. On the bottom third I used a mesh unmounted from Starving Artistamps. It was inked with SU Soft Sky and Heritage Marvy sea breeze. The small cut out is filled in with a piece from the 'Grove' collection (MemoryBox). The landscape mat is again from the 'Grove', I actually pieced two parts of it together to get the look. The big tree is cut from the scene and popped on foam though it is hard to tell from the angle of the photo. I used Starving Artistamps stitches sheet of unmounteds for the borders of the two layers. The bigger one is inked with Black Soot and the smaller feather stitch is walnut stain. As I was adhering my layers I GOT CROOKED, so I decided to continue the off kiltered look!...attaching the sentiment with black staples at a slight angle. I do hope the challenge officials will look at it with head slightly tilted! If you look real hard you should be able to see a message in the corner...let me know if you find it!
Thanks so much for taking the time to read my story and ALWAYS for your heartfelt comments!

Your off kilter sentiment looks so cute. I love that little boy image. I think I see the corner sentiment, but I can't quite read it. A very nice card.

The slanted panel really adds to the look - love how the little boy is laying on the panel. I see the sentiment but can't read it all... something ahead...?
