I haven't been interested in touching a rubber stamp in over a week! Talk about burnout. I was browsing through the Stamp Salado website (the most fantastic stamp store in Centex) which y'all can check out here:
Click on the Texas and check out all their cowboy stuff. There's a Christmas card with the deadbeat Designs windmill all gussied up with jewels. This gave me an idea, so this is what I came up with.
The little sheriff is a prize I won (totally randomly) from my friend and mentor Jeanne S's blog, Inky Paws. The sky and sandy desert were Jeanne's technique, which can be found on her tutorial here:
Her tutorials are awesome. So anyhoo, I came up with this. Noel, y'all! is computer generated and I printed it after I did the windmill, cactus and boy. Used American Greeting Cards software and first printed it on a piece of plain paper which I had laid over my scene for positioning the words. It woulda been just like me to have y'all right over the little guy's hat, but I lucked out. Hope y'all like him. My rancher friends in Brenham will get him for Christmas.
The gemstones are from Wal-Mart where they have the shirt decorating stuff. These are iron-ons, but I just glued 'em down to the card. Did I mention...I don't do irons.
I also hit three challenges - WT178 Be-jeweled, WT181 Sharpen up using colored pencils, and WT156 Computer challenge. How cool is that?
Oh, and this - the little tiny holly leaves on his hat were stamped from Inkadinkado Warm Holiday Wishes and cut out. Very carefully cut out. And his star is a brad which I clipped the tails off of.

Holy cow-girl! Nancy, you sooo rock! I saved this one to favs right away! Dang a cowboy with a decorated cactus. That is dang fine! Your card is adorable.
Now, next time you get in a a funk and can't stamp, I say ya head out west. (or call a doctor for cryin' out loud!) We don't have Gruene Hall, but me and Bubba would take good care of you!

This is so cute. I have this set and haven't used it YET. Love the cactus. He is so dazzling. Great job. I would say you found some mojo here. Love it. TFS
