First off--this is utterly fantastic!!! All the ribbons are wonderful and the metal corner pieces are a great finishing touch!!! TFS!!!
Question--you said that this is one of the Mead notebooks, did you uncoil, punch and recoil? Thanks for any info. jg

To answer questions:
I used my pliers that I use with wire (i made jewlery in a former life--before kids) to un-bend the crimp in the wire at the bottom of the wire coil and I "unhooked" the wire from itself at the top. Carefully I unscrewed the wire from the notebook. When I have it half way out, I secure a large safety pin through the holes of the paper (not the covers) to keep the paper from getting all katty-whampus when I am recovering the covers.
The covers need to be sanded lightly on the smooth sides (0r use sticky strip) so the adhesive will stick. I usually only cover the front and back covers (not the insides of the front and back). After I cover the front I re-punch the holes with an 1/8" punch. I rethread the wire after all cover embellishment is complete, then re-bend the crimps at the top and bottom. Then it is ribbon time
