Happy October, ya stamp lubbers! I made this for today's sketch challenge and used Cornish Heritage Farm's Stamp (set!) of the Month, Ahoy Matey from the Kim Hughes Collection. Isn't it cute?! I love Paulie the Parrot (at least, that's what I've named him; Kim might have another name in mind, and of course I defer to her... ), and I think that silhouette pirate ship is pretty awesome, too.
I don't know if you can tell, but my idea behind this little scene is that Paulie is walking the plank at sunset, and a rival pirate ship is somewhat in the distance. (I'm hoping he'll be able to swim/fly to it, and join a new crew.) The ocean is made with patterned paper, while Paulie and the sunset were colored with Copic markers. Paulie is also popped up on foam boosters for a little depth and dimension. The patterned paper in the background was made by stamping off rows of the tiny skull and cross-bones in Adirondack Raspberry ink on some random patterned paper from my stash.

I love the big black boat! Scary looking..I think it might be crawling with pirates and they made their birdie walk the plank because he can't keep his mouth shut telling everybody's secrets to the Captain! That's what your card tells me in a fabulously creative way!
