My son will be getting married in April and I have been asked by he and my future daughter-in-law to create their invitations (all 200+!).
This is the design I came up with. There were a few requests from the bride:
1. Make it more traditional with white and silver (her grandma's request)
2. Make it a double gatefold (yikes)
3. Tear the sides of the folds
4. Use flowers in a 3D way.
5. Try to cover-up the center of the card so that the seams don't show. I cut out leaves stamped with silver Encore from the Wild Rose set.
They really aren't as hard as they look, although I wouldn't make these for just anyone.
I make 25 of each component at a time so it won't get too crazy. I also created the belly band that has one of the flowers attached to it along with organdy ribbon and silver cord. This keeps the card shut.

Thanks for all your nice compliments. I just got the official "Thumbs up" so off I go to make more! The inside will have their picture with the invitation printed on vellum over the top of it. They will be tied together with a "faux bow" at the top so that card will still remain semi-flat. (I hope!)
I'll post a final picture later with all the pieces, including invitation, response card, thank you card, and place card. Wish me luck!

Proud of my 2 sons - my biggest accomplishments,
But there is NOTHING like being a grandmother!

Wow - that's a tall order, what a great MOM for doing all of these. They are really beautiful and will mean so much more that they are hand made. GORGEOUS - Good Luck!
