A birthday card for a chap whose nickname is Bull.
I had this vision in my head of there being a collection of animals, but only the bull has a party hat on - but couldn't think what to use for the animal images....then I remembered a set of zodiac stamps I had tucked away, with the Taurean bull, and a few other animals for good measure, perfect
the photo ^ is a montage - the card in its entirety on the left, and on the right two close ups, of the bull tag, and the sentiment which I wrote with the Around The Block tape writer with the "ransom" font wheel - love that thing!!
I used a deep red card blank, and stamped a stripy pattern on the top half with pearlescent beige ink.
The strips of embossed card at the bottom were sprayed with gold glimmer mist and then put in a Swiss Dots cuttlebug folder while it was still wet. I then stored it under some very heavy books until it was dry (I don't own a Cuttlebug machine, just the folders)
I covered the join with some self adhesive ribbon.
the three animals were stamped with black cherry Stazon then coloured in with watercolour pencils and an aquabrush. Once dry I coloured over each animal with a versamarker and embossed them with clear EP. I sprayed the tags with orange and gold glimmer mists, wiping it off the embossed animals, and set them aside to dry.
Lastly I edged the tags and card with charcoal chalk ink (cats eye) and attached the three tags with eyelets. And I made a little tiny party hat for the bull out of self adhesive copper strip lightly textured with a Ten Seconds Studio metalwork tool.
Oh and then I stuck on the sentiment.
Phew! sounds like a lot of work but it wasn't really
And I think he'll like it
