Made this for a gal at work. Her DD was born in July and nursery theme was Down Under by Baby Martex. (I'll post links to pictures of the bedding and the rug below in the comments section.) I printed off the picture of the rug and used my lightbox to trace the koala bear for the frame and the kangaroo for the card. I used SU pastels on them to give them a little bit of dimension. I free-handed the butterfly wings, cut them out and assembled the butterfly. I distressed the edges of the letter tiles and I used my sewing machine to stitch around the letter tiles. I used the Rock-n-Roll technique on the letters - first inking them up with So Saffron and then Rock-n-Rolling the letter in Really Rust.
The frame came from ACMoore. It measures 5.5" x 14" and is great for longer names or for times you want more room!! I usually use the $3 frames from Wal-mart, but found with using the Big Deal alphabet and having chunkier letter tiles than I normally do -- I ran out of room! Very glad I had this frame in my stash!! It was originally white, but I spray painted it Heirloom White since I had used Very Vanilla. These particular frames came in white and black for $12.99. They also had some more expensive ones in different finishes. The package listed the web-site as www.timelessframes.com.
I'm very pleased with how this turned out and it was fun to use some non-traditional colors to make something for a baby!!

Gorgeous and a wonderful keepsake gift. I hope to make my first name frame once our nephew and his wife have thier first child (due mid-Sep). I'll also have to wait to find the name!
This will be one of my sources of inspiration. TFS and ...
