Well, at least Black Velvet is what I’ve named it. I always hesitate to say I ‘invented’ a technique – cause I know 9,000 people will stand up and say they did it first. LOL!
Black velvet
a. Stamp image onto black glossy paper with embossing ink. Heat emboss just until it is glossy with regular clear powder.
b. Pounce over image to cover with three colors of alcohol ink and a metallic mixative, with the ink applicator tool.
c. Alcohol ink will adhere to the heat embossed areas, so you donÂ’t have that immediate resist that you do with dye or pigment ink. But if you allow to dry completely and then use fine grit sandpaper to remove embossed layer, you will remove the gloss of the embossing and expose the image underneath
