This shadow box is a birthday gift to my sister Kathy. It is filled with good and wonderful memories of our sweet mom. The 'bejeweled' buttons are from my mom's tremendous stash of buttons, and the little wooden spool is also from that stash of stuff we had no idea why she saved.
The four hearts from 'Always' are embossed with white EP, and represent our sibs. I think my favorite part of this box is the smell. I had a bottle of Avon 'Rapture' bath powder that was my mom's. Kathy and I used to open it and smile, thinking of mom. I 'powdered' the material and rubbed it in before attaching the lace, ribbons and pictures.
Thanks for looking- this was a good project for me.

A wonderful heirloom and memorial to your mom. The way you laid out the photos and all the momentos and the hearts are gorgeous. What a treasure this is!

Your shadow box collage is beautiful -- and I'm sure will bring a smile to your sister's face every time she looks at it. It's so nice that you were able to personalize it even more with things that your mother owned. Well done!

You made me cry. I know your Sister will too. This is the most beautiful tribute I have ever seen. I keep "stuff" too and if I don't write why, noone will ever know. I think I'll start another journal and tell why I do what I do. Thanks for sharing. Your Mom was beautiful.

I love your shadow box and all the wonderful details. You two girls, I am sure, took a stroll down memory lane with the pictures of the "olden days", as my daughter always called it. Kathy will treasure this.
