WT833 ~ That'll Be The Day - for bugs ~ {02/25/2021}
It's Sabrina here as your hostess this week. I'm afraid that when I was planning challenges for this roster, it was a time of year when I was particularly busy in work, tired and low on imagination. I'm compiling a list of ideas to have on hand for the next block . But anyhow - when stuck, I always look at what happened on this day in history. It's a little slot that I always enjoy on the first news broadcast in the morning when BBC Radio 4 comes on air.
This day in history marks the recording on 25th February 1957 of "That'll be the Day", by Buddy Holly and the CRICKETS (although it wasn't released till May of that year - so we are featuring insects and bugs on our cards today. Bonus points if you incorporate holly too!
Insect: an insect is a small animal that has six legs. Most insects have wings. Ants, flies, butterflies, and beetles are all insects.
When you've made your buggy card for the day, upload it with the keyword WT833, and then come back and share a link here - that makes it easy for people to find your card, and is especially helpful in case of typos or the recent gallery keyword issues (thankfully resolved).
If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
Many thanks, as always, to the team for creating imaginative and inspiring samples for you. Jayne's made me smile as we don't have fireflies here, and I still remember the magic of the first time we saw them in Greece, in an olive grove at night.
Sabrina,
Fun challenge here. You've got me singing this song, now. Here's my card.

Great challenge, Sabrina! And extra fitting, as we just passed the anniversary of "The Day The Music Died" on February 3rd, when Buddy Holly and a few others were sadly killed in a plane crash. Though that was before my time (1959), I am well aware of it as they were headed to their next concert near where I grew up.
Just wanted to pop in and share that bit of history for folks who might not be aware!
I hope I can play along, too, if I get home in time to do so this weekend!
Big hugs and blessings to all,
Chrissy

Thank you Sabrina! You got me side tracked this morning! I also watched another Ed Sullivan video of Elvis singing Don’t Be Cruel. LOL. Buddy Holly is .DH’s absolute favorite.
anyway thanks for the challenge, and entertainment. I will have to do this later, as I am headed out on errands this morning.

Chrissy, yes, that is right. And that was in my time! LOL. It was Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and the Big Bopper killed in the crash. Very sad at the time.
Thanks for the challenge, Sabrina. Brought back memories. The night they were killed in the plane crash, they were coming to Green BAy to perform. They always have a concert every year in their honor. Here is my card. WT833 Springtime by Holstein at Splitcoaststampers
Cool challenge! I really wanted to stamp a kitty card today so when I saw this challenge, I figured out a way squeeze in both. I originally wanted to use a ladybug but couldn’t find one that worked well with kitty, so a butterfly will have to do.
