It's Sabrina here as your hostess this week, and I hope my challenge offers plenty of different alternatives for you. The game is on - you can use images with playing cards or other games; you could also use game pieces like scrabble tiles or jigsaw pieces on your card, and if you feel like doing some ABAC altered stuff, what about domino tiles? I used a drilled bamboo domino tile for my sample. We have a tutorial for a little accordion album with altered dominos for the covers, which is here:
Domino Mini Book Tutorial We also have a tutorial on altered game pieces:
Altered Game Pieces Tutorial -There was a trend for jigsaws a year or two ago, so maybe you have dies or stamps (I have both, as well as some old stray pieces saved from long-ago puzzles).
I know that on the
Mixed, Messy and Joyful thread a few weeks back they were having fun with altered playing cards, so maybe some people still have some cards left to play with.
When you've made your choice of game and finished your creation, upload it with the keyword
WT811, and then come back and share a link here - that makes it easy for people to find your card - especially if you have a typo
or there are gallery issues.
Here's a link to our
WT811 The Game is On gallery
Here's a link to my sample:
If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
As always, thanks to my team mates for their wonderful inspiring samples. Lisa's round playing cards are amazing, and Jayne's dominos remind me of when I used to decorate little cakes like that as a child. And Toni found a great bingo card background - which is something I forgot to mention.
