WT883~It's Hip to be Square~ 2/10/22
Do you find yourself gravitating toward one shape when you’re searching for a die cut? I realized the other day that I probably use more rectangles when I cut an image. So in keeping with our Ways to Use it goal of utilizing more of our stuff, let’s be square this week. Huey Lewis told us “It’s Hip to be Square”. To honor Huey, let’s get out our square dies and square stamps. Layer squares, cut a single square, or stamp an image that’s square. Make it CAS if you like. So now that you have that song in your head….ready, set, be square!
When uploading your project, remember to use the keyword WT883 so we can see your creation in the gallery. It also helps if you link your project on the Ways to Use It thread, too.
Here's a link to our Square gallery

Here's my card;
WT883 Ladybugs and Leaves by peeps321 at Splitcoaststampers
If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
Thanks to Lisa, Jayne, Sabrina for their lovely samples:

Great idea, Polly! I hope I'm not posting too early, but I saw your example and I couldn't wait to play! Here is my version:

Thanks Polly for the challenge !
Unfortunately, we try here to make as few square cards as possible because they require additional stamps to send !

I don't often make square cards either......they probably wobbled in my A2 envelopes. I have no inclination to buy or make a square envelope.....and then pay additional postage. Needed a quick card that would be hand del'd(in an A2) Thanks, Polly.

WT883 Wood You Be Mine?
Great challenge! I made half square triangles by hand- so they are a bit wonky- adding a washi tape wood border on 3 sides. My card was inspired by Shoe Girl's Birthday Squares card- so wonderful!-.
I added a red paper heart shaped doily for my wood loving beaver. Here's Wood You Be Mine?

Thank you, Polly, for the chance to use squares on a card. I love a window card and can’t seem to get away from using the Soaring Swallows Bundle. Here’s my card.

This was fun! I was challenged by my black and white color combination as well. It was so tempting to add another color, but I resisted!

Thanks for the fun challenge, Polly! I saw Huey Lewis in concert the year that song came out, so yeah, that song is now stuck in my head. <LOL> And like you, I tend to reach for my rectangle dies far more often than my square ones for some reason.

Here is a square card I made the other day. It does have circles in it, but the card base is square.

I am playing Challenge cardmaking, and hopefully, doing some catching up on some as well.
Challenge: Make a square card or add a square to your card. I chose to add a square to my card in the overlay portion of my Side Front Flap Fold card, which measures is a 3-3/4" square.
This card is for my oldest son's half-century birthday...yes the BIG 50! Here is my card: It's the BIG 50!
