Well, it's Thursday, it's Christmas Eve. All the gifts are wrapped, and we're all ready to set the table to look pretty. Keep a couple of paper napkins aside - today's challenge is all about using those napkins. I have to admit I grew up with fabric ones and still generally use linen ones when we have guests, but I have a supply of pretty paper ones too. And if you have neither, there are a couple of kitchen towel techniques you could use. We certainly often just use that when it's the two of us .
TLC751: Kitchen Towel Techniques From this, I loved using a towel to add texture to paste with the stencil still in place, and have revisited this.
And if you use kitchen towel in your spray box (I do), it often makes a fantastic background.
There is also the glittered napkin technique - no tutorial here, but here's a short video with three different options: Youtube Preview
(sorry, site issues might mean that you'll have to open this link manually. I've already fixed this post three times, I've run out of patience if it doesn't show properly this time)
What ever way your serving your card up, when you've finished creating, upload it with the keyword WT824, and then come back and share a link here - that makes it easy for people to find your card - especially in case of typos or gallery issues. And if you've used one of the techniques, make sure to upload it to that gallery in Technique Spotlight, to build a library of inspiration.
If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
Thank you to Cathy (wow, now that makes me want to actually try the fold), Jayne and Lisa for their great samples.
Here are my tag and card Sabrina. Thank you for the challenge. Merry Xmas. Keep safe and well. Hugs

Sabrina- thank you for the Paper Towel Technique tutorial reminder! As we've been travelling cross country by car, we have an impressive collection of fast food napkins, so that's my background- so or this week's paper towel background challenge (WT824) and the Sketch Challenge (SC833) I made this sailing themed card. I created a black and green inked and distressed background with the above mentioned paper napkins, accenting it with watercolor pencils. My stamped boats sit on a ripped panel of blue and green inked and misted paper to give it a storm tossed wave effect. For the sketch challenge I moved my light blue die cut border element to the left side of my card in a vertical orientation, and oversized my sentiment panel. Here's Learning to Sail

I used the glitter embossing video for my technique - and I have so many napkins in my drawer - I made 4 cards! This was so fun and I LOVE the look of these!
I spent the morning in the kitchen, as we were bringing dinner to my aunt's house this evening. And then I needed a nap after a late lunch, but never fear, I will be along tomorrow or Saturday to take a proper look and comment. That's our Christmas socialising over and done with, I think.
