Hello friends...Cathy here with a new Ways to Use It Challenge.
Your challenge today is to create a card with only One Layer. This is coming from someone who loves layers! You may use embellishments on your one layer card and any die cut used as an embellishment such as a sentiment die. I may have stretched the definition of a one layer card for one of my samples as I mounted a one layer watercolor panel onto a card front. However you define a one layer card...can't wait to see your creativity displayed in the gallery!
Remember to use the keyword WT793 when uploading your project so we can see your creation in the gallery. It helps if you link your project here as well.
The team has some wonderful inspiration for you! A big thank you to Lisa, Sabrina, Carla, and Toni for their gorgeous samples!
If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how: 1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread 2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link. 3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on) 4. Click EDIT. Click COPY 5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE

One layer cards ARE a challenge.! I love CAS style, but at the same time I love to add layers and diecut embellies. Thank you for making me focus on keeping it simple - it was not easy!!!
Carla, what a wonderful challenge! I used a rose image from my stash, creating a window to keep it one layer. used a handwritten sentiment, again going with a window. Finished with a simple ribbon border. Here's rosy thoughts

My single layer card is my first attempt at one of the challenges (and first post here). During lockdown I have had lots of time to craft - good times - but have had a hard time thinking what to make once I sit down at my desk to start - bad times! The challenges are just what I needed to get kick started again! Plus I have set myself a challenge to try and use up items from my stash that I haven't touched in over a year, so this also ticked that box for me as made the rosettes a long time ago and then didn't really know what to do with them

My card for the challenge and also for the mixed media challenge, I had already die cut the bottom so I used double sided tape behind it and sprinkled glitter on it with two different colours, doesn't show on the photo,
Thanks Cathy! Since this card had a lot of water, I did mount the main one layer image onto a card panel before the base but the main layer is only one layer....
