Hello everyone...Cathy here with this week's Ways to Use It Challenge.
Sometimes it's just plain fun to reminisce. That's what the Memories Challenge for today is all about. I think we can all agree that our card making has changed and evolved over the years. Go way back in your gallery and choose one of your first cards uploaded to Splitcoaststampers and use it as inspiration for a new card. You might want to use the same layout, the same colors or the same technique. Be sure to link to the card from your gallery that you used for your inspiration. Here's my sample: Crabby Inspiration that was inspired by this Crabby Birthday card from the very first page of my gallery. Check the thumbnails below to see more samples inspired by cards from the past created by Lisa and Carla.
If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how: 1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread 2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link. 3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on) 4. Click EDIT. Click COPY 5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE
This is such a FUN challenge, Cathy! Don’t know what made you think of it, but I am so glad you did.
It made me smile to look back onto the first page of my uploads to SCS - that took me way back to 2005!
Here’s my card for this memories challenge:
I've only been a member for a year but it was still fun looking through my gallery and picking one of my first cards to remake. Here it is: Let It Snow! .
Thanks for the fun challenge, Cathy!
I chose a card in my gallery to CASE per the challenge instructions: Jolly Stars! because of its many stars and Christmas theme. I kept the Christmas theme and stars, but changed everything else about this card...the layout, colors, stamps, dies, and embellishments, etc..
