It's Sabrina here as your hostess this week - and I have a confession to make. When I first thought of the idea for this challenge, I know I had a brilliant idea for a card....and you guessed the rest. By the time I came to making a card I had totally forgotten my original idea, and no amount of memory-dredging brought back anything that seemed familiar.
I am simply asking you to make a card inspired by an advertisement. Is there a jingle that sticks in your mind - "Calgon take me away"... and hey, right now as I write this - I think I've finally remembered that mine was going to be based on "p-p-p-p-p-pick up a Penguin" for Penguin bars. Too late now , I've made my sample.
It doesn't have to be a jingle or a slogan, it could be the artwork in a TV or poster ad. One of my all-time favourite ads was in the cinema when I was a child; it was for Toblerone bars and had Triangular Bees in Triangular Trees. You wouldn't believe how often I've tried to find it online somewhere!!

I went with the ads for Bulmers, which is an Irish brand of cider. They do beautiful posters with orchards full of blossom and bees for the Spring ads, and then the apple harvest for the autumn campaign and a snow-filled one (Ireland, really???) in winter. And the catchphrase is "Nothing added but time..."
If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.

Good thinking, Sabrina.......a fun challenge that is "wide open". With allergy season in full swing where I live due to all the pollen in the air......I went with field flowers. Thanks!

Sabrina- what a clever challenge! I was inspired by the Gerber's baby ads from the 1960s- and added some buttons, a teddy bear, and washi tape to pair with a friend's embossed sentiment. Here's Gerber's baby

Sabrina- started this card yesterday, based on the Macdonald's fries, and finished it thanks to your Inspiring Challenge! I created my own fry box, and added 3-D "fries", along with a stencil style sentiment, and some buttons and bows. Finished with some washi tapes- dedicated to my DD who loves these treats. Oh my, what a FUN challenge!! My daughter just bought her first car this past weekend (6.5 hours at the dealership, hello!) and so Ford Fusion's car commerical "Delivers joy, by design" is the ad I'm channeling.
Here is my card for the, WT579, Inspired By Ads, challenge. I'm a little behind times, but I really wanted to use my new jar of seashells stamp. My inspiration, was, the Sandals ad, it advertises beach resorts. I had fun making this card, thanks for the fun challenge, and thanks for looking.
Inspired by the wonderful crab meals we had at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco when growing up. Used a recycled card for my images, adding some dimension with some sea life images from my stash. Created a hot pink embossed background for a punch of color. Here's Real Crab
