Neat idea for a challenge. I am so a tortoise...the most of that time is making decisions, either which color or which dp or which one will match that one...lol...i could spend half an hour to figure out just that, another half to figure out what paper to go with the first one...lol...DH is getting to be quite an artist ..lol...helping me decide if I gettin near to giving up and have it narrowed to like 2 . On the drawing board I go...:0)

The tortoise was a real rush to finish - I knew DH was home late and we wouldn't be eating till 8 on Tuesday night. I just about finished at 7.30, so I had to cook dinner pretty quickly, LOL. I left the Stickles to dry overnight, and added the cording and brad after work yesterday.
VSN and DTGD have taught me that I stamp most efficiently when I put everything away after each card. It's not so much having a clean desk; it's more a case of then knowing exactly where everything is and not wasting time trying to find something that is on the desk but has got buried under other stuff. While the masking fluid was drying on each layer of my "tortoise" I was busy tidying up from my previous card, which, being a Spring card for the MIX challenge, had generated a LOT of mess and stuff that needed to be tidied up.
Here's my card - I made this card like a hare because I had a sketch to use and the idea was in my head and it translated well to actually making it! but sometimes I'm a tortoise when what's in my head doesn't work out like I thought it would so I have to keep trying things until it works. I'm also more of a tortoise when I do a mixed media project - where layers can require drying time.
You stampers are really making some spectacular cards for the challenge. Don't forget to tell how long it took you to make these gems. Inquiry minds want to know!!!! I need to do some errands today, but I will be back to comment. Thanks for all your sharing...makes this site so great.
Fun challenge, Linda! Definitely a tortoise here. But I get to discover all kinds of neat things while I'm plodding through. Here's my Eggcellent Easter. Thanks so much for looking!
I love to do quick cards with lots of color- this one took 10 minutes thanks to the pre-stamped sentiment and flowers. Added a fabric strip, mini dc flower and silver circle, and a sewn and gathered ribbon. As this has the elements for this week's sketch challenge, I combined the 2- here's Thanks Hare-y Much

Ms. TV Personality, I must acknowledge I am neither a hare or a tortoise. This card took hours starting with last night and again earlier today. Sweet challenge, Linda. Thanks so much.
Hello! Tortoise Sue checking in with my latest marathon effort: Cherry Sweet Sketch
Did we really NEED a challenge to rub my nose in my inability to crank out a card in a reasonable amount of time? Just kidding - so far I'm finding out that I'm among friends... ;)
Normally I am a definite HARE, but after making this card I believe I am only a hare when there are specific layers, and stamps and location is critical.
In the case of this card, I was doing the tutorial of the week, Gilding. I was already tired from a very long day at work so to cut time I pulled out my handy dandy "die cuts" container. My mom and I had done a die cut swap not long ago where we madly cut each others dies.
I also took the advice of the tutorial, to use a heat gun in between layers.
Using existing bits and pieces from my supply and off my work surface saved tons of time. I made me be spontaneous and that is what made it fun.
I did the entire card start to finish in about an hour.
The only snaffu that happened is my tattered angels clogged and ruined my shirt. I quickly soaked it and went back to work. (It will now be my crafting shirt)
having used gilder's paste before I knew to put it on pretty thick to get a good gilded look, dont go light or it will take forever

I submitted a Hare card earlier (I am quick at being messy), and this is a technique that I am definitely the tortoise with. Anything that is really clean with lots of white I am slow with.
Tortoise or Hare? I would say a quick tortoise or average Hare. Sounds pretty average to me:rolleyes: I average about an hour per card. A quick card is about 30 minutes like my Amazing Brushos Houses card.
I made this card over a couple hours...which is a hare speed for me! I multi task, and fiddle around when crafting so I was pleased to finish in one evening! I am almost always a Gwamma tortoise when crafting!
Here is my card for the , WT524, Tortoise Or Hare challenge. I started this card, at 8:00 PM, and, with a few minor interruptions, I finished it at 11:30. So I think I must be a tortoise. I had fun with this one. Thanks for the fun challenge, and thanks for looking.
