I must confess that I used a 1 1/4" Punch so my birds aren't exactly "Inchies" more like "Inchies, Supersized." Fabulous challenge. I combined it with TLC168.

I saw this posting last week and thought "oh, how interesting!" I have an aunt who quilts and I've worked off and on with an idea to create a "quilt" card using a combination of papers and fabrics. The discussion on inchies brought that project back to the forefront (none too soon either as her birthday is next month!) and I incorporated inchies in my process. I selected a half dozen coordinating papers and ran them through my Xyron machine (to save on glueing time), then cut them in to strips of varying widths. I cut the 1" strips further into 1" blocks (inchies) and started working my layout.
Once the layout was done I cut the finished piece into 4 pieces (I know, freaked me out too!), then cut 2 of the pieces in half again. The first piece that I worked was 4" x 4" so I ended up with two 2" x 2" pieces and four inchies. Then I started the process all over again, laying down pieces and moving them around until I was satisfied with the overall look. I glued those down onto my base card and trimmed any uneven sections with 1/8" strips of cardstock that matches the base card. AWESOME!
I'll add surface embellishment to the next one before attaching it to the base card. And some day I might even take a picture and post it.
Thanks for the inspiration! The gallery is really great! sab
I finally got a chance to do this challenge! I really wanted to because I have an affinity for all things small, and this challenge coincided with one for Purple Faerie Paper Crafts that I had to do. (I'm on the challenge team) I made two items, and they are here:
Lots of posts today, but wanted to get this in - my first experience with inchies - used my Nestabilities 1" square. Shockingly small but it got some use!
Ellen Hutson's site is amazing... a tad spendy, but great quality... I want to make an order, but so far I am cutting my own
There are 3 pages of inchie stuff... from chipboard, to matt board (in black and white) to papers, to a punch... plus glass and frames and even more stuff...

Very, very cool.
Bazzill makes them. I get mine off ebay since my local store stopped selling them. But I know there's scrapbook stores out there that do sell them. The stores usually sell them for $4 and under for 50. (depending on the store) You can usually get a pretty good deal on ebay, too.
