Hello and welcome to a new Watercolor Wednesday Challenge! Today we are going to create an abstract background and add silhouettes! I am sharing CreationsCeeCee video to inspire us. She is so talented.
The video feautures dividing a piece of watercolor paper into four pieces, painting an abstract design on all four spaces then adding doodled silhouettes.
I am going to give you lots of room to add your own spin! It's up to you if you want to create just one abstract background or multiples. When you add your silhouettes you may doodle them, die cut them or stamp them. I created four samples attached below of all three types of silhouttes. I would highly recommend giving doodling a try! I was afraid, very afraid but I think it's my favorite card!
Remember to use the keyword WCW012 when you are uploading. It's helpful if you come back and leave a link on this thread, especially in case you made a typo and people may not find your card.
If you're not sure how to link your card on the thread here, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one window for your card and one for this thread. 2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link. 3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on) 4. Click EDIT. Click COPY 5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.

Angie, what a great challenge. I think it's something that everyone can try. Your samples are wonderful. I was a reluctant doodler until I was introduced to Zentangle. I hope to have a card tomorrow. Just starting back to school so a tough week piled with new assignments, etc. Hoping to keep up with our challenges as best I can. Thanks.
I'll be back to comment when I get out of the eye doctor - crossing my fingers that the additional drops they prescribed 3 weeks ago, are helping to lessen the pressure from the glaucoma . . .

A fun technique for watercoloring a background Angie! I made 4 cards - one exactly as instructed (ie drawing image), one I drew stems and stamped flowers, one I used an outline stamp and one I used a silhouette stamp!
very fun challenge, Angie. I must admit, the 9x12 finished piece looked a bit scary. It looked all muddied to me but I thought i would go with it anyway. That's what a challenge is about, right? My first time with this technique and I did enjoy it. I'll probably make the other three panels into cards too. Here's mine.
