Time flies! 18 years ago I spent 3 months in India. It was a deeply enriching and challenging exprience : I learned so much about Indian culture, history, traditions, and of course, cuisine! The food was very hot and spicy and it took me weeks to get used to it!!!! My challenges are based on both the savoury and sweet dishes I ate while I was there.
Colour palette 1 : COLOURS OF SPICES Give your page lots of flavour : mustard, chili powder, turmeric (light orange or yellow-orange), tomatoe, black pepper. Use at least three of these colours for your layout.
Extra credit Add some green!!! cumin (gray-green), chili green (dark and rich) are a couple of suggestions. It can be rhinestones, glitter, paper or other embellishments! See examples of dishes here: http://www.google.ca/imgres?imgurl=h...ed=0CEsQ9QEwBA
Colour palette 2 : DESSERTS Time to sweeten things a little!!! White, orange, pink, vermillion, gold and golden brown are common colours for Indian sweets.
Choose at least three of these colours for your layout. See some Indian sweets here: http://www.google.ca/imgres?imgurl=h...w=1024&bih=644
Extra credit Did you notice the Vark, an edible silver foil, on some of the sweets in the picture? Integrate silver embellishments such as brads, rhinestones, foil, ribbon, or paper for extra credit!!!!

So sorry about the delay in getting this up! It took me awhile to figure out what I was doing!!! I hope this challenge will inspire all of you to create!
Spicy ... I like it! I knew just the papers and picts for this one when I saw it. I'm having internet issues so I've not been able to chat or upload but at least it's helpful to focus on pages, LOL

Good Afternoon Ladies!!! Just got back from dropping off dd1; dd2 has a friend over...so it's time for me to lock myself away and play with ya'll! :-) I'm off to pick my pictures and get started...
Hi Chantal, Mary Pat, Patti, Barb, Terry, and Michele, Lela and Deb! My tummy is full now, and I am a happy camper! My DH fixed us some scrumptous grilled sanwiches. So I am ready. Looks like a fun challenge. Am I right that we just choose one of the color palettes? The spicey or sweet? I love anything with curry! So I will go with that. I am on the way to look for photos.
Here's mine. I love these color palette's. It is hard to see in the pic but the circles on my page are embossed with silver embossing powder then sponged with more mustard ink. They are very pretty in real life. TFL
OK ladies. I think I figured it out!!! We are posting these layouts in our individual gallary? If so, can someone check my gallery and see if they can see my two layout from the first challenge? if someone reports back positively, I'll post the rest and start on the next challenge. Thanks,

When you upload the photo into your gallery, you must put the correct keyword JUN11VSBNI (for this challenge) in the space where it asks you for a keyword on the upload page. It took me a few tries to figure this one out!!! You can't add any other words with it or it won't go to the correct VSBN gallery page.

Okay, I am cleaning up my area, because I can't find a whole packet of pics that I just got this week for VSBN! I have a photo in mind, but have to find them!

you can add other keywords, you just have to use a comma to separate them. So if you want to put them in our monthly scrapping section, you would put: jun11vsbni,sbc11jun, (then whatever other keyword you want?)

Is there a way to correct this so mine will go into the main gallery?

Go to your gallery and go to that entry. On the bottom right just above the picture it says "Edit Photo". Click this, it will bring it all back up and you can add the keywords in there ;)

Go to your layout and there is an Edit button you can click; it will take down the current 'page' and then reload the corrections...it can take a few minutes so just go scrap in between and then recheck :-)
I think I have finally edited and figured it out! Yeah, thanks to my boyfriend - he helped me get the pics the right size - he's such a honey! Thanks to all of you also for helping me. First time for everything right?

Chantel here is mine! I chose the DP because it had the right colors, not necessarily for the stripes. thank you for your challenge. Oh I did the extra credit of green rhinestones!
I used all the colors listed, as well as the green bonus.
