Coach: scrapdillyicious Challenge Name: You go girl 3:00 PM
I would like to recognize the very first women in the winter Olympics. Her name is Sonja Henie she competed in 1924 which was the very first Winter Olympics. She was 11 years old.
My challenge to you is to create a vintage page using photos in Sepia or Black and white. Use only blacks, grays, creams for your papers. If you distress your paper using inks or distressing tools that will be a bonus. I want you to celebrate the women in your life. Women you look up to. If you dont have anyone then celebrate yourself. Do something for you. To show us your achievements.
My page is for my mother. My father was the love of her life and what better gift to give her is to give her a memory of their beginning together.
I hope you enjoy my challenge. I enjoyed creating this gift for my mother.
Dont forget to finish your page in less than two hours and upload your page with JANVSBNM in the keyword.
I know just what to do for this, so I guess after I feed the troops I'll jump back in starting here. I've got 1 page done so far...still thinking on most of the challenges. Guess I should have printed off more pics, but really trying to be good and use what I have! ;)

I am really glad all of you like this challange. I was afraid that not many people would participate for the simple reason alot of people don't print their pictures in black and white.
What a GREAT Challenge! I have a b/w wedding pict of my Mom & Dad that's been sitting here for awhile! I have wanted to do something with it & this is just the challenge for that. I'm off to put my page together.

That is great. My page was a gift for my mom. I put it in a 12x12 shadow box frame. And when she wants to put a differant page in I take that one out put it in a book and put a new page in. She will alway have something make and eventully have a whole scrapbook.

Oh, that would be nice too! A shadow box...hmm, I'll have to think about that. I hope I have some paper for this I like, I'm looking forward to scrapping this.
This has been so FUN! I don't think I've EVER got this many pages done in a weekend, LOL! Lots of times I just keep "fiddling" and with the time limit, you just don't have time to....it's a good thing.

Remember you can always create your own background paper. If you use a cream color base you can distress it with ink by sponging, wiping, blotting with browns, cocoas, blacks. you can also swipe.

This was such strange timing....I was just looking at a picture I have framed of my mom, thinking I really need to scrap her, as she has lung cancer and I may not have forever with her. Thanks for the push! Love this challenge!

LOL - oh yeah, totally know this! Love the challenges as well - and just got the pics figured out and printed for this one - great challenge - and off to figure out some papers/colors
I know my pictures aren't celebrating the women in my life, but I figured I could say I was celebrating MIL for having such an adorable baby!
LOL! That's what I did!
I've finished the page and quite happy with how it turned out. Still haven't taken any pics to upload. But I'm scrappin' and having fun. Hope that counts for something.

That was sort of my motivation. My Mom has Alzheimers and I want to give her stuff that she like to remember. I cherish the time I do have with her while she remembers all of us.

Here is mine. I got some black scrapbook page frames for Christmas this year. I think I might put it in one and give to my grandmother for Valentine's Day.
