Interactive cards for kids: use velcro instead of dimensionals
Velcro instead of dimensionals
Want to go the extra mile to put a smile on a child's face when they receive a card? Make it interactive with velcro!
Materials:
1. Adhesive velcro
There is a sticky velcro that has adhesive on the back. It's intended for use with fabric so the adhesive is really quite strong. It comes in a variety of sizes; I usually get the one that's about 3/4" wide and several feet long so I can just cut a little bit off the end as needed. 2. Other normal card making materials
Steps:
1. Design a card as normal. Use some sort of animal or character that a child would likely enjoy playing with.
2. Fussy cut or die cut out that character.
3. When you attach the character to the card, use velcro instead of dimensionals.
4. Optional: Create a scene inside the card for the character to play in. It could be pop up or flat.
What a fun idea! I do make lots of kids cards and I'm sure they would love this type of card. I do usually put some stickers in the card for them to either play with or add to the card I made. Your idea is even more fun and can be used over and over. Thanks!
