I am going to order some nesties while they are on sale and this will be the start of my collection. Which ones do you use most and for what? I want them all but can't get them all right away so I thought I'd ask the experts (you) which ones they find are the most versatile.
I'm primarily a card maker and scapper if that helps with suggestions.
My only suggestion besides the ovals is to get both large and small if you want to layer. Another set that is so useful is one of the oval petites. These are very good for a thinner oval for sentiments. I have needed this set three times in the last little while and finally have it on order.
oh definitely you need to get the scallops to go with your plains. I have also used the rectangles. My only set I have not used at all is the squares. I also made a mistake on the label sets and resold one of those and the larger rectangles at a garage sale. I recently bought all the deckle sets for card making. These ones are great for scrapbooking too, since they are very large.

I've been looking at those deckle rectangles!! I've seen some stuff in the gallery with them that made me go "oooooh!!". I was checking the labels too but you say no?
How do you feel about the "sets" with the plain and scalloped edges??
I made the mistake by not buying the sets to begin with. I bought the large scalloped of the squares, ovals, circles and classic rectangles. Then I wanted to be able to layer with the plain, so I thought I'd buy the plain large and small and the small scallop, and then figured out with the price offered by Ritz, it was actually cheaper to buy the whole set for all 4 (scallop large and small, plain large and small) than to buy the additional 3 to go with my large scallop. So I ended up buying the complete sets one at a time from Ritz. Now I have two of the large scallop for the squares, ovals, circles and classic rectangles, but I actually like that because I still use those the most, and it makes it go quicker being able to use the two same dies at once. LOL
If I had to do it all over again though, I'd save myself the $16 per shape and just buy the complete sets.

I love the Labels 1 and Labels 4 and use them a LOT. I have the Labels 2 but I don't use them as much - however, I still do use them so I don't regret buying them. But the Labels 1 and 4 are awesome.
I also use my Mega Curved Rectangles a LOT.
I think the set I use the absolute least is the long rectangles.
OK - I actually showed some restraint.... This is what I ordered:
Deckled Rectangles Large - the longish rectangles
Deckled Rectangles Large - the squarish rectangles
Large labels - the ones that are square with the inverted rounded corner thingys
Standard/Petite Circles set
I wanted many more but this will be a start. I don't have a CB or Big Shot yet and was planning to go to Michaels tomorrow for a peek with my 40% off coupon.
What do I need to use the nesties with a CB or BS? Sorry for all the questions and I really REALLY appreciate everyone taking the time to tell me their opinions!
you can use them with either the cuttlebug or BS. Probably go with what you get the best deal on. I own the BS myself. NOw if you dont have either you have not gotten involved with cuttlebug embossing folders have you??? hmmm. You are now getting in way over your head;) and we will all help you float.

Lorri - your response made me grin! and NO, I've not gotten involved with CB embossing folders yet and I'm so happy for all the SCSers that will help me float. (aka enabling me!!)
There is another thread here that has the sets on sale. I understand with a $100 purchase and paying by paypal you get additonal money off so they come out to $13.65 per set and the shipping is free. It is a thread up above this one. I am going to check my collections when I get home this evening and place an order. These sites are reputable and great for ordering nesties:
I have a quick question. When I order from www.scrapbookingalley.com is that the set for $16.65. I have never bought them and this will be my first sets. I am leaning towards the ovals in plain small and large, does that sound like a good plan?
They are having the sale til the end of the day today.

Yes those are the sets. That is for one set of 4-5 dies. The complete sets are around $50-55 dollars, that is for 4 sets to make a complete set. So the $50 sets are small scallop, large scallop, small plain and large plain.
They always say until the end of the month, but Ritz and Scrapbooking Alley always are 20% off.

You will love them and have a ton of fun with them!
I looked for an ovals set too when I did my order and didn't see one.
I've not been able to find the classic oval complete sets from them, I did once find the petite but not the classic. I bought my ovals set from ucutathome.com and used the VIP 40% coupon (you can get the coupon code by signing up for free on her website.)
