Question ?Gelatos oozing tiny droplets, what is it?

I had them in a small box in a drawer of a trolley had not used them since last years november/december cardmaking. Went to use them today and the set of 4 is oozing tiny droplets of some liquid adhered to tops.Other gelatos a few I bought as single do not have this.
The droplets do not move so is not water...Anyone know what it is?
Are they still usable?
I have all sorts of crayons, oil pastels etc never seen this. Mystery to me!
Help?

My guess? Probably the binder used to turn the pigment into usable sticks.  I don't know what the binder is, but I would take some scratch paper and scribble all over it.  Either the droplets will disappear into the paper or back into the stick or will rub off.  You should be able to decide whether there is any difference in the usability of the gelatos.  I don't think you should have a problem.

The ingredients are all non-toxic, by the way.

I'd suggest contacting Faber-Castell's customer service - they may have some suggestions, or at least would like to be able to pass on your experience to their R&D department!
