WOW look at the notice I just got from Joann.com
Greetings from Joann.com! You recently saw a product that interested you but was out of stock at Joann.com.
They were out of the CB machines on line so I put my name on the email notification to let me know when they got them in. I bought one at Michael's when I didn't hear from Joann's. I hope Provo craft is not discontinuing the bug

I just checked Joann.com and they don't have it listed for sale.
They also don't have a picture with a note saying temporarily out of stock they way they usually do on items that will be in stock in a week or so.

We have had no CB products are the brick and mortar near me for about 3 months. I do not think they are going to carry them anymore--that is what the manager told me.

No new Cuttlebug folders at CHA either. I can't really see them discontinuing it because it seemed to be so popular, but who knows? I haven't seen any new CB stuff at Ms in a at least a year - that can't make Provocraft too happy though either. Weird.

When I bought my CB at Michael's they had very few CB dies or folders. Most of the pegs where they should be were empty.
Provo Craft has the Cricut, could they have decided to phase out the CB and push the Cricut ?

On another thread I read that they are releasing 18 new CB folders?
I heard that Joann's was going to quit carrying the CB stuff in their stores last summer...so maybe it's only Joann, and they are finally sold out of it online too?

You were right!! Just found this on the Cricut Forum:
I know you all have been waiting patiently to hear the news about the new folders. I spoke with the Cuttlebug representative yesterday at CHA and I am sorry to say, but there are no new folders released this CHA, but will be 9 A2 folders released in July and a few other ones, such as the smaller ones and combos.

So should we be out buying "B" plates and "C" plates in case no one sells them locally anymore? I haven't been to my local J's in a while so I have not noticed about the CB machines. I broke my C plate for the first and hopefully only time today- boy was that a LOUD snap!! I was in a total daze and put the C plate on top instead of the B plate- ooops :( Won't do that again.....

I was at my local JoAnn's the other day and they had Cuttlebugs EVERYWHERE! There was a skid of them in the middle of one of the scrapbooking aisles, a whole bunch on a shelf near the same old selection of folders and dies and then an end cap full of them. I remember thinking, "Wow, what's up with the overflow of Cuttlebugs?"
I am certainly going to pick up some more B plates, etc., "just in case!" I asolutely LOVE my Cuttlebug!

I just had a thought.
Frequently Joann.com offers free shipping. Cuttlebugs are heavier than most things they sell. Maybe the cost to them of the free shipping on CB's is why they will no longer sell them on line, but will sell them in the stores.
Some how I just can't believe they would discontinue an item like this that is in demand. It makes no sense.

I ordered one when they were on sale for $49.99 right before Christmas, and never got a shipping notification. I called them up, and they said they were having major problems as they don't inventory the item for online sales; instead the item drop-ships directly from Provocraft and their system was not feeding the shipping/tracking info into the Joann's system as it should.
So maybe it is just a supply chain issue with Joann's online and the drop shipping?
Still, I think I'll buy some extra plates while they are plentiful at Hobby Lobby!

WHOA! That sounds like a good idea to me! And maybe we should be making templates or at least taking measuements in case we wind up having to have plates MADE at our local plastic stores!
OMG!! Discontinue the Cuttlebug!!! Are they Nuts! It's the first machine I reach for. And I have the Cricut, original Sizzix and the Big Kick, too!
No Way!! They know a good thing when they see it! Now that I have clamed down a bit, I do not think they would discontinue it.

No one's reassuring me here. Stephanie, your pics are of new QK products, not cuttlebug. And meluvstampin, your links are to cb products from past CHAs. Those folders have been in stores for awhile.
Would they really discontinue one of the best selling die-cut machines???

Those pics are from the Craft Critique that is at CHA doing updates. Maybe CB just put them up as they have no new stuff to show???
There are few places that did that.

I love the embossing folders... but then there are embossing 'blocks'. I am just curious as to what people do with them here.. I realize the obvious but maybe I am missing something. I like to emboss a complete background or be able to cut a shape but not just emboss one shape... Ideas? I realize i should probably post this elsewhere but people were posting pics of the product so it reminded me...
Thanks!

Sorry. I thought about that after I posted that I didn't mean to say your pics weren't from this CHA. I just meant the cb products weren't new. Well, maybe it's a good thing that they at least had a booth at CHA. No indications they're doing away with it. Who knows? Maybe PC is working on bringing out a new and improved cb??

Now I wonder why I got the message from Joann.com that they will not be re-stocking for a long time or the product is discontinued. Are they just disorganized and don't know what they have?

Now i don't know what to think about the email I got from Joann.com
If you search the site for the CB machine it is not there, but if you search for CB dies/folders and click on one of them , at the bottom it shows the machine and says you may be interested in this too. I clicked on the machine picture and it looks like it IS avaiable.
Maybe Joann.com is just messed up and we are worried for nothing

I just checked Joann.com and the CB machine IS listed as available. They also now have "C" plates
So I guess we don't need to rush out to buy plates . Whew
