On the same lines as "wish I hadn't paid for this" I thought maybe we could share our favorite tools of the trade! I love my Big Shot. I use it for texturing, cutting dies, embossing folders....it adds such dimension.
Boy it's hard to beat that. I love my Big Shot - I use it every day. I'd say my AquaPainters, my Easy Stamp Press, Stamp-a-ma-jig and my Scor-Buddy would be the things I'd grab if the house were burning
For me it is Scor Tape and my Xyron for little die cuts. I let myself get crazy fiddling with red line tape and several adhesives try to attach things . Then I found Scor-tape and Xyron and they made adhering things so easy. .
Another thing is my "Quickstik" to pick up and place very tiny pieces exactly where I want them . I can pick up a 1/8" punched circle with ease
Heat and stick powder. I spent so much time trying to get glitter to stick to a stamped image. I wish I had found this a long time ago. I love my Big Shot too.
Wish I had bought the Cricut sooner. Now that I have gotten more into scraping than cards, I use it all the time. Come to thing of it humm........ it will do small letters and I do not always have the right stamp sentiment for my card.
Mine's definitely my ATG gun. At first I was blown away by the price of the gun itself but once I did the math on the refills thanks to some very helpful SCSers, I decided it was worth the prices. Especially when I used my coupon at Michael's. ;)
Oh and my MS score board, I use that and my ATG gun for every card I make. And my copics too! Lol.
Stamp-A-Ma-Jig! I didnt resist too long but should have gotten it the minute I started stamping. I am far too AR to not have my sentiments and images lined up perfectly! LOL
The other thing is my ScorPal and MS Scoring Board. I love them both, for different reasons, but I definitely recommend and scoring board of some kind if you love doing different fold cards and making altered and 3-D items.
My ATG and my Copics. ATG saves so much more money and frustration in the long run. And my Copics, although they are pricey, they are worth it. Makes coloring lots of fun!
I have a storage bin on a turntable which holds all my basic tools: the ones I use on every project like scissors, tape, rulers, babywipes etc. I bought it at a show about 3 years ago and cannot think how I managed without - it's the first thing I pick up when I walk into my craft room.
wow, I have quite a few favorites.
The Stamp-a-majig is a fantastic tool for stamping in precise places, loved it once I learned how to use it.
others include my ATG, yes initially costly but in the course of a year I have actually "saved" due to the amount of adhesive I go through.
my BS (I LOVE my BS) lol I should get a t-shirt that says that!
My ATG and Scor-Pal, which was replaced by a MS score board. The cost savings and the sticking power of the ATG just cannot be beat. And I used to think I could score whatever I wanted with my scoring blade on my cutter, or just fold and use a bone folder. Man.. what was I thinking? My cutter, ATG and MS score board are the 3 tools I use for every single project, I think.
I'm gonna have to go with my Big Shot too! I had only the Cuttlebug for YEARS and it was working just fine for me, but I was able to get a brand new BS for a STEAL so I figured I may as well get it now! I've had it for a couple months now and LOVE IT! The embossing is much deeper, which I am really thrilled with! Plus it cuts my nesties and now I can buy the XL Sizzix dies if I want to
I couldn't think of anything until I was making some cards yesterday -- SCOR-PAL! I didn't think I needed it until I got one for a gift last year and WOW! How did I make cards all these years without it?!?!?
Mary Beth
My Silhouette machine!! I held off for so long because I was afraid it was too "technical" for me to learn. But it is SO easy! And it adds so much to my cards and scrapbook pages. I LOVE that I make the shapes almost any size. And it saves me so much money. If I could control myself I wouldn't have to buy another die or punch.
...If I could control myself I wouldn't have to buy another die or punch.
Me too. I have a CraftRobo and thought I'd never buy another punch because I have my CR. I also now own a lot more punches since purchasing the CR. The one thing that I wish I had bought sooner was my natural light light bulbs for my task light. It makes a big difference. Oh yeah - so do the reading glasses (old eyes you know).
I've got to go with my Big Shot! I didn't buy it sooner because I couldn't afford it; but now that I have it I am so happy with the investment. I bought it off of Overstock.com for less then retail with SU.
I see no end in sight to my love affair with embossing folders! I just adore the textures!!
*PTI white card stock: GREAT weight and perfect for card bases and trading cards, also keeps Copics from bleeding throuhg
*Copics: Rekindled my love for crafting when I was bored with watercolors, SU markers, colored pencils, etc.
*Cuttlebug: Small and does everything I need with my Nesties and folders
*SU scalloped border punch: I use it a lot and it's very well made
I have to say I love my Scor-Pal and my Carl Rotary Paper cutter. I found tooth and nail to buying it but dang once I did I love my paper cutter. Straight cutter each time.
Wow, after reading the messages on here I see I really need to go get an ATG!
Mine would have to be Copics - I just started slowly getting some but am thinking if I had them sooner I may have started doing a lot more stamping sooner
My ATG, should have bought one years ago
MS Scoreboard, love the 1/8 slots
Colored Pencils (have Prismas, Dick Blick and Faber)
Copics
Distress ink (love to watercolor with them)
Xpress it paper for Copics (absolutely nothing better for coloring with copics)
Cuttlebug (have no room for the bigshot)
Sakura stardust glitter pen (way better then the copic glitter pen)
Sakura Glaze pens (use them for everything)
Glamour Dust Glitter (amazing clear glitter)
Nesties
And more.....
