Are you going to get it?

I haven't because I'm convinced I'd break it inside of five seconds #twoclumsycats - but I see lots of positive talk about it.

Watched video ( creativsion) and don’t think they have started shipping yet. One of his video he was showing new products and said they would not be released at the same time but staggered.

The stores where I have looked still have pre-order/reserve with shipping end of February into March. No where have I seen it "available now."

I have one on pre order from Marcos Paper. They are offering them at a discounted price and with free shipping. I expect I will get it in late March, maybe early April. I think it is offered at a number of online stores earlier than that but as far as I know it’s still a preorder scenario at this point.

Yesterday Scrapbook.com announced that they have received a number of them and would fill orders until that supply was exhausted. I ordered through my LSS and am eagerly awaiting a message from them. Soon?

A second vote for scrapbook.com. There service and shipping can't be beat.

Definitely a good deal at Scrapbook.com. Ordered mine from Marcos when they offered 20% off. They figured that the shipping will be high due to the size and weight so they changed the deal, but they are offering free shipping and 10% off now. Sounds like scrapbook.com is getting theirs much earlier. Mine isn’t stocking until some time in March. I think the big guys get their stock first.

Yes, it did. I got it last Wednesday, and so far I love it. It's the best of any work surface I've ever had for ink blending, watercolor, etc. I even got adhesive and gilding flakes stuck to it and it cleaned up beautifully.

Last night I smooshed my small distress ink cubes onto the little squares and used them. This morning I went to use them again and they were perfect.

Ooo. Thank you for that update. It's probably not healthy for me to be this jealous, hilsmom. I'm trying to keep my LSS in business but it is really difficult to wait for the little guys to get stocked.

Great to hear this. No LSS in my town but I did buy online from a smaller vendor so it will be at least late March. I was hoping that the reviews would be good, and the things you are liking about it are the things that are important to me also.

My LSS thinks that their Media Mat order may arrive this Thursday. My envy may be cured soon. Anyone else have theirs yet.

I do want one. I am going to wait to see if any of my local stores will start selling it. I have so many mats now, but this one does seem to check all but one of my boxes. It is black which is great to see my projects since I mostly work with white/ivory backgrounds. It has gridlines and a centering line, which I love to use now. It is wide, I have the We r memory keepers glass mat but it is a square and I never have enough room on it. Glass is so easy to clean up especially with a razor scraper I got from the Home Depot. I love it has a mixing area and alcohol inks won't stain it. The only thing it is missing is being magnetic. However, that is a good/bad thing in my case, since I sometimes set my phone on my craft table and sometimes don't think about the magnetic mat I have, so I can see myself forgetting about it and erasing my phone by mistake. However, I do like to use my MISTI creative corners on my magnetic mat to hold my paper in the same place while I position stuff.

I had a chance to try the new Ken Oliver "best ever" craft mat a few weeks ago at a class he taught. Really nice -- 16x15", heavy, did not slide around on the table at all, cleans easily of course, and can withstand heat tools up to about 500 degrees or so without shriveling up. I would have bought one if I didn't already have 4 other mats (the teflon sheet kind). Costs around $15.

Default Using TH Glass Mat

I got mine about a week ago and really like it. Having the divided space between the black and white is a visual clue that helps me keep my "messy" part away from my project unless I want it there. He's right about it being on feet keeping other stuff out of your work space. Again, it may just be a visual cue, but it's working for me. Cleans much easier than any other craft mat or sheet I have had.

I like that it's black with white gridlines, those have been helpful, and I also find that it cleans up better than the Teflon/silicone mats I've been using.

I specifically bought it to combat the 'creep-age' issue but I apparently can't remember I have to actually put stuff off of the mat to begin with, lol!

I would pre-order one in a heartbeat, but I have an EK Success glass mat already. I bought it from a fellow demo who quit using hers a long time ago. I LOVE it! and the price was right!

I will buy some of the sticky craft mat sometime though.

Most everything has been mentioned about it and I agree about its easy cleanability, ink blending friendliness, and all the rest. I especially like the size. It's not the usual square mat that I use for a few things while doing a lot of other things around the perimeter. It IS my workspace now and everything I do I do on it. I put my supplies I'm using for my project outside of it and pull them in as I use them and put them back. Not my usual style but for some reason something about it, maybe the slight elevation or the power of suggestion by TH, keeps me from working too closely surrounded by a mountain of stuff.

Default Im still waiting.

I ordered my mat from Marcos paper in early April. At that time they were expecting a shipment in early April. It has been extended a number of times so Ive been looking around and no one I can find is able to get them. Ive seen as late as Pre orders for July. I heard from Gregg at Marcos this morning and his new expected date is late June. Its puzzling how long its taking to release this product.

Im sorry to hear that. That is odd. My experience with Marcos has been that they are very reliable. I ordered really early so I got in the original loop but it was a long wait. They sent all the TH stuff in batches as soon as they got them. My tool set for the mat was the last shipment. Since they are a smaller vendor I think they do tend to get things later than the big guys. I noticed that it is on reserve at Simon. It seems to be available at Ellen Hutson for 62 if price is no barrier. Its out of stock at Scrapbook.com but at a considerably lower price. You probably know all that. Sticking with Marcos might be the best choice. I hope you dont give up on getting one. I think its really worth having.

I'm using my old SU glass mat (for their circle cutter) that has been up in my closet for years. I also bought a silicone mat and they work great.

I still may order the TH version but for now, this is working fine for me.

I have been happy with Marcos and dont blame them for this delay. I know they will ship as soon as they can. Greg is very quick to respond to all my questions. Thanks for your input.

I’m not buying a glass mat, but an LSS I visit stated on their website a while back that because of manufacturing problems - it may have said defects? - there was a delay until June originally, but then July. Of course some retailers get products before others.

The owner said that Tonic came out with a glass mat last year with different markings that she actually thought were better, and that the Tim replacement mats could be used on the Tonic mat down the road. Just a consideration.

Its pure speculation on my part but I highly suspect manufacturing issues and/or design flaws not previously discovered. Hopefully it will be a good product once its released.

I do notice several scratches on mine and I thought I'd been careful with it. I can't really imagine cutting on it although that was demoed when it was introduced.

Yes, manufacturing problems is what was indicated on the LSS website. IOW, during production.

My daughter ordered me one from Simon Says Stamp for Mother's Day. At that time it was saying reserved expected a date in mid June. Now it's saying July 11th. Uggg.

It looks interesting but like Fionna, I already have a glass mat I got at TJMaxx for a great price from We R Memory Keepers several years ago when they were stocking assorted items like pads of paper, etc..

I am interested to hear what people think of it.

I got one from sparkle and sprinkle and love it. Do notice some weird spots like the glass didn't get clean before they put the grid on...which kinda bugs me some when I want to get it sparkling clean, but...mostly I ignore them. I like this one cause it's not so Busy looking the other ones I've seen that are white seem to be to busy looking, with a grid but other things on the grid. That would always bug me I think. If they just had a grid, I might have considered one of them...but prefer a more simple and clean looking surface without all that clutter of rectangles on the grid. Am really enjoying Tims, even if their are spots. Didn't figure it was worth sending back so I didn't.

Other than a few new scratches on my TH I like it a lot. The Tonic white version I looked at appeared to be gridded in centimeters. It had a ton of different boxes and lines. Maybe thats the one you are talking about. I found that distracting. I hope my TH glass mat doesnt turn out to have some so far unnoticed flaw. I find that working on glass with just a grid works for me.

Yes, I think that may be the one I saw...hadn't noticed it was in centimeters which wouldn't have worked for me either...but yes the different boxes and lines were VERY distracting! I prefer the plain grid of Tims...and have to admit, I'm kinda hoping there isn't some so far unnoticed flaw that will turn out to be bad on mine too cause so far I'm loving it!

Several card makers I follow on YouTube made comments early on about the reflected glare from the glass wreaking havoc with their video equipment. I wonder if this is part of the delay.

I ordered mine late January/early February from Rusty at Oozak. When I checked a couple of weeks ago, his available # was negative 56,, which I assume to be the # backordered, with a hopeful date of late June. I checked again a few days ago; his # was negative 51, so he either rec'd 5 or 5 customers cancelled their orders. His price is still $31.99; hard to believe someone would pay twice that thru Ellen Hutson.
