Since I'm new to SU, I don't have any experience with the old colors. I'm just curious....if you could vote for a color for SU to bring back, what would it be?
BTW - does anyone have older SU cattys that you'd be willing to send me? I'll pay for shipping. I only have 2010 IB&C, the SAB catty, the Holiday Mini, and Spring Occasions. I would love to see what SU has offered in the past, so I have clue what people are talking about.
My favourite retired colour is Groovy Guava, a previous In-Colour. I was astounded that Brocade Blue was retired, but I like the Marina Mist that took its place. As far as greens go, I do miss Mellow Moss--it went so well with Artichoke.
Groovy Guava. So glad I still have a stash of it. Also miss Sage Shadow. It was a perfect green to match papers from a lot of companies like Cosmo Cricket and Basic Grey.

Wow! I had no idea that stampers were longing for retired colors. As a demo, I couldn't switch fast enough, I was so anxious to try all the new colors. However, I do miss a few:
Ruby Red, Mellow Moss, Taken with Teal and I had to stock up with reams of Summer Sun as it is one of our HS colors.

I guess it's only good business sense that they switch colors. Otherwise, those of us who have most of them would not be buying inkpads. Now we have more colors that we "need" to get! I think they're pretty smart business people in that respect. But it is very frustrating to those of us who have favorite colors that get retired.

I agree, I don't think SU would bring any retired colors back. It was good business on their part for us to now purchase the colors we 'need'.
Although I would love to see some brought back, I wouldn't be too happy if I sold all my retired colors and SU brought them back, KWIM? I've seen SU bring back stamp sets, but never retired colors.
Barely Banana-my favorite of all their yellows
Bermuda Bay-just a fun color
Sage Shadow-a favorite green
Pale Plum-they don't have a pale purple/lavender anymore, what's with that?
I personally think SU was somewhat ruthless in purging and cutting back on their colors last year. I think economics had a lot to do with those decisions. I'm looking forward to future InColors, I always like at least one of them and stock up.
I do understand the business strategy of refreshing the line periodically. While I don't expect SU to bring back any retired colors to their main line, given the sheer number of people who truly miss certain colors, they may want to consider another option. They could do a limited time event of color revival, where people could have one more chance to order ink and paper in the retired colors they miss. I expect they'd get a large response. I honestly don't know what it would take to restart manufacturing the old colors for a limited time, but I'm pretty sure they didn't throw away the formulas.

Oh, that's a good idea! Yankee Candle does something similar with their retired scents, I think. "Limited Release" always seems to make people buy more. At least I do, anyway. But then I'm probably a sucker. LOL
I so miss Rose Romance too!! I bought tons and tons of cardstock when they retired it but am afraid to use it, because what if I "need" it for something else???? What a whack job I can be!!
