For me, all of the "solid image" stamps take a bit of patience to ink well. It's not difficult, but I can't just slap it on the pad and then on paper & get a good result. I typically lay the stamp face-up and pat the inkpad onto it - thay way I can see the coverage and keep at it until fully inked.
Markers or the pigment inks are a bit easier on solid stamps, but sometimes I just want the effect of dye-based.
