Default Tulle: Ways to use it on cards???

I've made a couple of cards using tulle, but I am not very happy with them. I tried a bow (a struggle that produced just so-so results) and tried wrapping a piece around the card base (not impressive). I am interested in learning ways to use tulle on cards. Does anyone have any suggestions or know of any tutorials? I'd appreciate your help. Thank you.

I've seen little pom-poms made with them. They can be attached to a piece of ribbon or tulle on a card. I have only used the tulle ribbon (with elastic) trim that I found at Joanne's.

I used tulle on some wedding invitations I did, I did not tie a bow, just a simple knot, then kind of fanned out the loose ends. Looked nice, and the best part, the tulle was free.

I've got a couple cards I used tulle on.

Lovey Dovey- I tied a strip of tulle around this card.

Believe in Magic- I gathered a small strip and used a flower with brad to secure it.

That is what is so fun about tulle...figuring out how to use it! I've got a massive spool of it and it is cheap. I've never thought to list tulle in my key words. I'm also the daughter who gave Mom this idea for the door. It just seemed so obvious to me to use tulle as a screen for the Memory Box door die.

BTW - I tried and failed to spin tulle florettes on giant glue dots. The tulle just did not seem to stick to the glue well.

I just used some on a card this morning! I was making a couple of prototypes - you know trying out designs before I made several of the 'good' ones. So I thought I needed some tissue paper to put inside these mini shopping bags. Of course I'm OUT of tissue paper, but I had some green tulle, so I used that and I like it. I'm going to get some other colors.

I have used it to make backgrounds. Just place it on top of your cardstock and sponge through the holes.

This is going to be so useful ... there's tulle in the upcoming SU! Holiday Catalogue ... and I've been trying to think of what to do with it!

Wow, there are some awesome ideas here ladies, TFS!
I love the idea of tulle because when mailed it will go flat, but not get all out of shape.

What a good idea! I did that with cheese cloth and brayered ink over it for a background. Why didn't I think of using tulle?

I also love using tulle to tie a bow on a gift. So pretty! You can get big spools at Hobby Lobby in various colors.

10 yards. It's 3-1/2" wide with a scalloped edge. Available in Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso. It is described as "extra-soft" and it is used on projects throughout the catalog.

I have used the large style tulle (more sturdy- larger holes) as a chicken wire fence as a background of a card and then used the cute metal brads that look like hardware screws (Michael's sells these) so the tulle on card looks more 'industrial'...tulle is wonderful-light weight, not bulky...slip it into a floral arrangement on a card too--adds just that lil' bit of elegance to the arrangement!

I did the attached card using tulle as well (don't have a picture of it), although this one is actually done with the plastic netting that some produce comes in. The tulle is more elegant and easier to work with. Just wanted to try the netting as I have so much of it---and it's free!

I like what you did with the netting. I too thought something could be done with it and will be copying your idea. Thanks!

In a commercial bridal shower album I saw a dress shaped cut out with white tulle coming out of the cut out from the back to look like a wedding dress.

oooooh you just gave me an idea.

There's a gorgeous card on Pinterest of a wedding dress: top is plain white cs, but the skirt part is the doily die from SU cut so that the curve is the hem of the dress, and ribbon around the waist. It is gorgeous!!! I bet there is some way to work tulle in there.....

I hope this link will work

Thank you to everyone for the great ideas and some fabulous sites to visit. I have tulle stashed in one of my craft "bins" and will certainly dig it out to incorporate it on some cards.

Default Ideas with tulle

I made a card several years ago using some tulle I had laying around. It's a bit bulky, but I liked the effect:

I'm loving all these ideas!

Here's a scrapbook page I did a long time ago using tulle (since I had a whole lot of it). I used it on top of the black textured SU paper along the side to try to give the page a touch of elegance. It looks like denim in the pic though.

I cut a piece of tulle double the size of a sentiment stamped label (spellbinders) and gathered it behind the label to make the label pop. The card needed a smidge of color and the tulle added it....turned out really really cute.

Love using tulle strips in place of ribbon when I want to add a delicate, wispy touch to a card. It adds texture and interest, but in a very understated, clean & simple way. I've experimented with colors, but I must say I favor white, off-white and a dirty camel color that I found at JoAnn's on the bolt (I think it was technically called gold, but it is more of a burnished., dull gold.)

Here is a card that I made using a a narrow strip of white tulle tucked in back of a vellum vine. It's very wispy and delicate and didn't require any tying, just poking and glue dots.

CAS138 Dainty Flowers - Thinking of You by Boss - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

This one shows a narrow strip of vellum tied around the card and finished with a simple knot (I think I added another short strip of tulle to the knot so I had 4 tails to give it a bit more substance.)

Nature Walk Egg Border - Easter Blessings by Boss - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

As someone else mentioned, the tulle on the roll (5" wide), makes an elegant and showy package tie. It's also pretty tied around a vase of flowers in a big frothy double bow - a quick and easy way to dress up a plain jane vase.

Enjoy your tulle adventure!

PS
Found one of my cards with the dirty camel tulle. Here it is:
