...where have you found the best price? I've been looking online and I'm sort of shocked by how much the price varies! So far, I've seen a range of between $28.40 to $70 for a ream of 80# (before shipping).
I have a friend that buys it for me from Kelly Paper. I forget the price since a ream lasts me quite awhile but I know if I buy it from my LSS, it would be much higher. The LSS sells it in packages of 20 for $8.00.
Neenah sells it directly, something like $32 for a ream of 250. Desert Storm (kraft) is a couple of dollars less, or more...can't remember which way, but it's close;)
As it turns out, I live a mile from the Kelly Paper in Portland, OR. (western US states) I went over there today, and was able to pick up a ream (250 sheets) of Classic Crest Solar White 80# in Smooth for $34.80. Had I gotten the 110#, it would have been $50.05. They also sold it loose for $0.15 per sheet, and I got a few sheets of the black, a cream, a tarragon, and a dark brown. They didn't have any of the super smooth in stock, but I ordered a ream in 80# and will be able to pick it up next Wednesday. She said that the Classic Crest doesn't come in a super smooth in 110#, and I don't see that the Neenah web site has it, either.
I might have gotten a better price online, but I doubt it when you take shipping into account. I didn't even have to pay for gas - I rode my bike! Also, I didn't have to worry about the ream being abused in shipping with the corners bashed in. I was telling the salesperson what I was going to use this for and how much smaller quantities went for online, and she was pretty shocked by those prices. She said that any Kelly Paper store should be able to order stock they don't have but that the company sells. You can special order as little as a ream and there's no extra charge for it. They seem just as happy to sell an individual a ream or even individual sheets as they are to sell serious inventory to large print shops. I liked them.
I'm not sure how far south you are in MN, but I buy mine at Anchor Express in St Paul (off University) for a little under $30 a ream.
I love Anchor Paper, but I'm about 50 miles south of the Cities, so I don't get there very often. But, I just found out that I have to make up trip up there next Saturday, so I will be able to pick some up then (along with a bunch of other stuff, I'm sure!)
I thought that if you bought only one ream you could get free shipping at Neenah. (Meaning one package of 250 sheets.) It was when I got my paper. Paper is the most expensive item to ship because of the weight so I am wondering how a store can charge so much less because they too, have to pay the shipping costs. Whatever, its all about the total amount.
Maybe Gina K has better prices on paper; she has beautiful high quality paper in different weights.
Subbing. I'm well-stocked with Neenah right now, but I cannot remember where I bought it so this is valuable info when it comes time to reorder, thanks !!
