Default Is there a way to make red rubber stamps work on clear acrylic blocks?

I have seen a tutorial on this on you-tube. BUT, when I take my stamps off their wooden blocks, I don't have any "cling stuff" to use to make it re-useable on the acrylic block. Does anyone know where I can get some cling backing for my red rubber stamps so I can use them on my clear acrylic blocks??

You can buy ezmount. Or you can brush aleene's tack it over and over on the stamps. I use tack and peel which sticks on the block. I get it at joanns

I generally use Aileen's Tack it Over & Over on my unmounted rubber stamps. I have used repositionable dry adhesive when I was in a hurry and didn't want to wait for the liquid adhesive to dry. Basically, any repositionable adhesive will work. Just stick the stamp to the back of your hand or on your shirt a couple times to take away some of the tackiness so it doesn't leave residue on your clear blocks.

I also use Aleene's Tack - It. You might find it in the fabric section of the store. Just remember to stamp using a little padded mat since the red rubber stamp doesn't have the foam attached to it!

I use ATIO&O on the plain red rubber, no cushion. I stamp on top of a magazine or mouse pad or my favorite, the SU! catalogue!

Besides Joanne's - where do I find the tack n peel to purchase??? Also, with all the methods mentioned above, I see that some use just the red rubber stamp on the clear block, but is it okay to stamp using the mounting foam that is attached to the red rubber too??

Absolutely! If you just coat the sticky side of the foam with the Tack It Over & Over (or any repositionable glue - I've also had great results with Tombo Mono Multi in the white bottle with the green caps), and stick it to your arm a couple of times after it's dry, it will work like a stamp that you mounted on EZ Mount.

I've also heard of some stampers who just use the sticky left on the cushion after removing it from the wood mount. Once it's been stuck to the wood and then removed, it loses enough of its grab that you can put it on an acrylic block and remove it - but when I tried that it left residue on my block and that bothered me for some reason.

Anywhere I can get them CHEAP! All of mine are clearance from Michael's or Joann's or from going out of business sales. One is as good as the other. My favorite is a chunk of plexiglass from the old shop teacher I taught with!

I've also used double-sided tape with the bare rubber when I don't have anything else.

I've gotten acrylic blocks at Joanns with a coupon or the dollar/studio g ones. I've seen some relatively cheap ones on ebay as well.

If you like to see the image on the cling side, to even further help with placement and also to serve as an index, you can peel the sticker off the wood and stick that to the back of the cushion on the stamp, trim to fit and then add the Tack it Over and Over glue--- Basically the same kind of deal that Stampin' Up offers now. That's what I so, and I LOVE it.

A couple more ways...Scotch Poster Tape on the clear block will hold the stamps securly in place; leave the tape on the block and replace when grungy. Plain old glue stick on the back of the stamp will hold the stamp securely on the block; rinses off easily when you're finished stamping.

I've used Poster Tape, glue stick, TIOaO, other assorted reprositional adhesives, and cheapo double sided tape. Like them all...frankly I use whatever I have handy at the time.

As far as blocks...started pulling my rubber stamps off wood waaay back when I started stamping (around 92). Used anything that was clear for a block (Tic Tac boxes, clear acrylic picture frames. etc.). Am now upscale with 'real' acrylic blocks.

BTW: I never, ever use any type of cushioning under the stamp...but I usually place a piece of 6 mm craft Foam (Foamies) under the paper.

Try some of the suggestions that have been posted here, then go with the one that works for you.
