Question SU Mini Stamp ,Cut & Emboss Machine Question

My new mini machine works well for dies, but I would like to use embossing folders from companies other than Stampin' Up. I have some smaller and narrow ones but having trouble with what sandwich to use as SU doesn't address that issue. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

I don't know about this item, but Youtube has videos for practically EVERYTHING! If you can't find anything to help you call SU

If you search your embossing machine and with sandwich combo (I think) that sometimes helps. This came up for one search. But it may work better with your machine added in. https://www.crafterscompanion.com/pa...ng-sandwiches/

You will need to experiment to find a sandwich that works for you. Different companies have different thicknesses of folders.  In my collection they range from just under 1/8 inch thick to 1/4 inch thick.  That's more than the thickness of a plate.

I tried replacing a plate with the Spellbinders embossing mat, using shims, replacing a thicker plate with a thinner one...there are many options.  My best results come with using the embossing mat in the mix.

SU won't be able to help you since it's their machine and they will only help with their own products.

I would have to agree with fionna51. I have a Cuttlebug and with the SU 3D embossing folders have to use various sandwiches. Use shims (pieces of cardboard such as cereal box, crackers, etc. work well). Also the embossing mat fionna51 mentioned was suggested in a previous post and I tried it. It worked very well on dies. Experiment! Make sure you don't have to force your sandwich through with a huge amount of effort so as not to break your machine.
