My friends and I have the magnetic plate with the magnetic cutting board for years. Only need one plastic cutting plate rather than two with it. We have the magnetic cutting board with the magnetic cutting plate connected and perfect for thin metal dies as well. Don't need to use the metal adapter plate to cut dies anymore which was horrible to use with the metal adapter plate started warping.
We use the Sizzix Magnetic Platform attached to the Sizzix Precision Base for many years. Only need one plastic cutting pad and cuts very old thin dies as well without using the metal adapter cutting plate..
The new SU magnetic plate is not available until September 1.

I use the same thing as you do. Only problem I sometimes find is that dies become magnetized and move themselves together.
