Money Saver Stampin Up

Not sure if I am posting in the right area . . .

Any SU demonstrators? Does SU sell 12x12 cardstock in single color packages? Specifically, I need elegant eggplant but need about 75 sheets and do not want to buy variety packs
thanks

Only a few of their colors are now available in single colors in 12 by 12 packs. Elegant Eggplant in that size is only available in the variety pack.
12 by 12 is getting harder to find unless you get some at the craft stores, but then you won't find that particular color.

dagnabit!
That is what I thought from looking at the most current catalogue... but I was hoping I was wrong. I was hoping to use all SU products for the ease of color coordinating supplies.
thanks for your response!

I really, REALLY wish SU would sell all its paper in both sizes. It makes no sense to me that a STAMPIN' company will sell fabric and jewelry, but not all colors of its paper in both sizes.

This topic makes me a bit cranky. I love SU paper and hate having to search the web for single-color packs of good 12x12 paper that will coordinate (forget matching :( ) with my other SU products.

Maybe you can use a really close colour match from another company?
Bazzill Jubilee is very close to SU's Elegant Eggplant and I've been told PTI's Royal velvet is a good match as well.

Jubilee is textured, though, and PTI doesn't come in 12x12.

Thanks for the color options. It's hard for me to judge how things match on the internet.... that's why I wanted to go with SU - they make it sooo easy.
I too share that confusion as to shy they don't sell paper. It does push their clients to other companies.
Is there a list anywhere that gives a crossover between SU and Bazzill? There are several colors I need in 12x12.
THANKS ! ! !

Bazzill sells swatch books that can be used to compare its paper colors with other companies' products. If you don't want to buy one yourself (it would have to be updated repeatedly as colors and textures are retired), check with your LSS. If they sell Bazzill, they probably have a swatch book.

Remember that, just like fabric, yarn or other dyed products, the same color can vary slightly from one production run to the next. If you need 75 sheets of the same color, you'll want to buy them from the same source at the same time, to better ensure that the sheets from different packages match (although even with that there's no guarantee).

From my experience, unless there's a HUGE difference, you are probably the only person who will notice, especially if you're making something like invites that are going to 75 different people. :p
