Default stampin scrub discontinued?

I just tried to order a new stampin scrup and a set of replacement pads and both have been discontinued. Does anyone know anything about this? Is there a new product I'm not aware of? Kay

It's not actually discontinued, it just isn't going to be available for a while. Here is the SU announcement:

"Stampin' Scrub Unavailable for Extended Period
December 3, 2010

Our Stampin' Scrub manufacturer has notified us they are unable to obtain raw material for the Stampin' Scrub. We've been told to expect an extended delay in availability of this item as the manufacturer locates new materials. We will resolve this as quickly as we can, but we expect this process to take several months.

This outage has particularly affected thousands of our newest recruits who receive this item as part of their Starter Kit. We are working on a separate communication to all new recruits who had a Stampin' Scrub on backorder. Because of the delayed availability of the Stampin' Scrub, it will be removed from the Starter Kit, and new recruits will be allowed to place a special order for any $24.95 stamp set (excluding hostess sets) at no charge (including shipping). We will also include suggestions of how to clean their stamps in the interim so their Starter Kit stamps can be cleaned using other methods.

Several customer, workshop, and demonstrator orders are also affected by this issue. We have secured a small amount of inventory from our European warehouse and are shipping them to Riverton. If you or a customer currently have a Stampin' Scrub on backorder, the order will be filled once we receive the supply from Europe.

This item has been disabled as of noon (MT) Friday, December 3, and we will not be filling backorders for this item after this date. Once the item is available again, we will turn the item on and make it available for ordering.

It is always difficult when unexpected outages occur and we understand this impacts our demonstrators individually in a number of ways. Please know we are working just as quickly and carefully as we can to get this resolved for you and your customers. We apologize for the inconvenience, and we will post more information once we hear from the manufacturer and can provide an update."

I bought paint pads from my local pound store. Works a treat. You can have a couple- one damp, one dry. Cheaper too

I always used the ones from the paint store until I needed the SU one as a demo. Wonder if SU will go round and about to avoid stating that their new demos with no Stampin' Scrubs can use the paint store items or if they'll give the demos the go ahead.

I've seen a single sided in a case scrub at Michaels and JoAnns. I'm sure you can find them other places, too - just don't have many places around me to check.

I think SU has set up a shipment from the European warehouse to cover all the existing US orders

I got an e-mail saying I needed to pick a stamp set because it may be several months before they get more in. I signed up during the 1/2 off demo promo. I was really hoping that since I'd already signed up I would still get the stampin' scrub. oh well, nothing I can do about it.
