I purchased all the spots last year and I'm really glad I did! The only time they're a little inconvenient is when I'm trying to ink a background. They will work, but it's not the same as using a full sized pad and a brayer. I love that they're portable. I can take all 48 colours with me wherever I go and they take up very little room! I've slowly been adding full sized pads of my favorite colours but I would do it this way again if I had to!
Didn't mean to hit submit! I wanted to add that they are nice if you want to pack up & go somewhere with your stamping, like when you're waiting for the kids during sports practice & such. But for everyday use, the regular pads are much better as they don't have to be reinked frequently.

I love the spots ... you can get all 48 colours without breaking the bank! I do not have room for full ink pads, so the spots are perfect for me and they dont take up much room.
I started with my fave color family in spots. As time went by I've purchased the ink colors I use most. I just recently bought bold brights in spots cuz I rarely use those colors. I wanted to have them, but couldn't seem to justify buying full size. Best thing I've done!
I love my spots! While I agree, it is a little harder to ink a large background stamp, you can totally do it. My intent was to order the large pads in my favorite colors but I haven't felt a pressing need to do that yet and I've had my spots for three years now. Besides, my favorite colors change almost daily LOL!

I love the stamping spots!!! I have all of the collections!! They are easy to use and really don't take much space, so taking them all to a crop is no problem at all!!!
The spots are great! I'd vote for "get them" and then you have a better idea of what colors you really use/need/want! Then get just those in full size...
Another point - it is cheaper to get all the spots & all the reinkers than to get all the full size pads. So even if you have to buy the reinkers sooner it's still cheaper than buying the full size pads to start with. Plus there are lots of reinker techniques. I also find it easier to do some things with spots than with full size pads - such as continuosly ink wheels, create your own "spectrum pad" by placing your spots close together & using a brayer, or selectively inking specific areas of a larger stamp. I also find it easier to get good coverage with a spot as you can see exactly what is inked and what isn't and just dab the stamp with the spot some more until you get the coverage you want.
Hope you don't mind me jumping in here, but i"m new and just learning ~ do you reink the spots with the same reinkers that you use for the full size pads? How many drops do you put on to reink?
Yes, you use the same reinkers. You only reink a pad (spot or full size) until the ink doesn't immediately soak in. You will know when it's enough. With the spots, it should only take a few drops. With the full size pads, you shouldn't have to reink them for a long time. But when I do mine, I just gently squeeze the bottle & run it back & forth across the pad while moving down. Takes anywhere from 1/4 to 1/3 of the bottle.

I have all of full sized classic ink pads (including neutrals, in color and retired colors), all of classic ink spots (including neutrals, in color - I bought 6 blank ink spots and then used IN color reinkers and retired colors) and then all of craft ink spots.
I love having them! I woudl take the spots to crops and I also use spots to ink up the edges. I use the full sized ink pads at home.
I have the regular ink pads in classic and the spots in craft. I like having all the colors and since I don't use craft ink as much, this let's me have them.
