Default Ranger Distress Stains

I had the opportunity to play with these over the weekend...and WOW! in love! They flow so smoothly onto everything...tried them on grungepaper, DP (basic grey, so it had a bit of thickness to it), art parts from Studio 490 and on a canvas. The canvas that I had laid gesso down on before took the stain very nicely...areas without gesso...not so much. It was a small canvas I purchased on sale at Michaels...so it was a tester piece for many different mediums...so no worries the stain didn't take on the un-gessoed areas. They worked great on grunge, and was able to ink on top of the stain with a darker shade of distress ink and really achieve some fabulous visual depth. They worked well on top of Ranger Archival ink; would probably work over Stazon as well. Hit the grunge with a heat gun and the drying time was nil! Just had to share!

I was just at my LSS today to see when she expected them. Have you been watching Wendy Vecchi's blog (Studio 490: art brings to life...) and Hels Sheridan (http://pinkleart.blogspot.com/2011/0...3-three.html)? They're both using the stains a lot.

Oh, that's cool - but I think you won my stains! LOL Are in the Wendy and/or Tim Yahoo groups?
