Default Questions

Okay, I feel like I'm losing my mind. I cannot find the following, anywhere:

1) Future floor polish -- is there anything else like this that I can use with Pearl Ex? I've checked WalMart, KMart, Walgreens, CVS, etc.

2) Stickles glitter glue -- I can buy it on the internet, but I've been to Michael's, Hobby Lobby, and Hancock Fabrics -- no one carries stickles, and no one even seems to know what I'm talking about.

Thanks in advance!

Since Future is actually a floor polish- have you checked you local grocery stores in the cleaning aisle?

I have never been able to find stickles any place but in online stores.
I wonder why? I love the stuff!

Hmmm. I bought my Future at my Wal*Mart. That was a couple of years ago, tho. I wish you luck!

Future is an acrylic -based floor wax There's several craft products that are acrylic-based that can be used in the same way, Aleene's Paper Glaze is one.

Check your grocery store for Future...most stock it.

Stickles is a thick glitter glue...substitute with glitter glue or a glitter fabric paint if you don't want to order it online.

For a similar look with Pearl Ex I have always used craft store clear indoor acrylic varnish in small bottles. Just squeeze out a dollop on waxed paper or foil, pick up some with a small (size 2-ish) watercolor brush and dip into Pearl Ex (I do it directly into the jar -- less mess). The varnish picks up a bit of Pearl Ex and you can paint on a beautiful metallic finish. Try it!

The name is actually *Future Floor Finish*. I bought mine a couple months ago in the grocery part of Super Wal-Mart. It is in the aisle w/ all the other floor products.
I found *Stickles* in a LSS in Huntsville, AL. I haven't seen it in any other brick 'n mortar craft store tho. It is a brand name of glitter glue.. good stuff. You can use other brands or use glue and regular glitter instead. Michael's carrys some glitter glue but I don't remember the brand name.

Yup, future at the Big box dept. store- Stickles at many local stamp and scrapbook stores. The big box stores usually don't carry stickles.

My (large) grocery store didn't have the Future Floor Finish either. I found it at Home Depot.

Gee, I have a bottle of future floor finish sitting in my craft room. It must be 4 years old! If you live in Northern VA, you can have it!!

I have found Stickles in 3 packs at Jo-Anns Fabrics. Not much variety but the Jo-Anns by me has Stickles. If I remember correctly I have seen it in Christmas variety pack (red, green, and icicle?) and gold, silver and ? and I want to say also pink and blue. Now that I am writing this, I wonder if they weren't two-packs. I was with my mom and I know she picked some up. I had already ordered every color available on-line so I didn't get any at Jo-Anns. For price and variety, ordering them on-line was the way to go. I think I even got a free bottle or two - you know, for every 10 ordered, get one free or something like that. I LOVE my stickles - they have saved many a card that I looked at and said "it needs a little something".

Good luck finding them - you'll be glad you did!

I just saw 3 packs at joann's on clearance. They had a few different color sets, but not much. I think they were selling the 3 pack for $1.79 (less than one bottle regular price!)

If you can't find Future Floor Wax, so go Family Dollar. They have a generic version. It's clear and make sure it says "acrylic floor polish" or something similar. Future isn't a wax, but a plastic sealant.

For Stickles, I once found a three-pack at Joann's near the scrapbooking tapes/photo mounts. Otherwise, all the stores seem to carry their brand of glitter glue and nothing else. I ordered mine at addictedtorubberstamps.com

I have found Stickles at Archivers, but TAC also sells it, so you could find a TAC demo and order that way too.

I know some people have said that they found FFW "equivalent" at the dollar store. I haven't seen it though. As I recall, the FFW was kind of expensive -- like 12 or $14 for a good size bottle. I only needed a little so gave most of it away.

Stickles are worth hunting for. They are great. You need ALL of the colors !!

Do you use Future Floor Wax and Pearl Ex on cards? Or some altered projects? or?? And do you use Future Floor Wax with anything other than Pearl Ex?

I've seen Stickles at Archivers and a local scrapbook shop. And it is in the TAC catalog also.

Happy Stamping and Scrapping,

rita

Many polymer clay artists use FFW as a finish on cured polymer clay.

But if you're only going to use it as a binder for PE, that's a pretty big bottle! A craft acrylic varnish produces a permanent finish; gum arabic produces a non-permanent finish.
