Default New SU Ink Pads Trouble Opening

My Gumball Green ink pad will not open. Got a new black one and it opens fine. Does anyone else have a problem with the new ink pads. Any suggestions? Thanks - Niki

I did notice that the primrose petals ink pad I ordered was pretty hard to open, but it seems to be getting a bit better with use. I also ordered two of the older colours in the new ink pads and they were fine. Perhaps there's something different about the manufacturing of the In Colour pads? Not sure why that would be... I would contact your demo or Stampin' Up and I'm sure they'll happily exchange your gumball green pad for another one.

They are all a bit 'stiff'. All of my In Colors were stiff, but the black one, not so much.

A friend got some of the new ink pads and some of the pads are not glued in right and the pads are wavy. She is getting them exchanged, but she wasn't happy with them. We love SU, just worried about ordering these since she's had such a problem.

Update. My massage therapist and my husband between the two of them were able to get the Gumball Green ink pad open. It took pliers and a screwdriver to finally get it to budge. Then my husband grinded off some of the plastic and put it back together. Now it will open. Whew! Not something they want to have to tackle again. Hopefully all of them are not like this one. Thanks for everyone's comments. Niki

This is one of the reasons we all need to remember to try our new stuff out right away. That way if you need to return it, you can. I remember I had trouble with one of my ink pads a year ago and luckily I got it open because I hadn't tried to open it and it was probably beyond the "send back" date....

Good point Kathy. That goes for punches too. I remember reading on this forum about trying out punches because someone had a problem. Before that I never tried anything out initially. Now on to try out the dies......

AT this point, I only have the In Colors in the new firm foam ... but they were all good.
My Brights and Regals sets of Inkpads should be arriving Monday or Tuesday, so we'll see. But so far, no problems ... everything opened, everything as it should be.

I'm so excited ... I built my collection of inkpads slowly, so this will be the first time I've received THIS MANY inkpads at once! It's going to be AWESOME! (yes, it has been pointed out that I need to get a life! ;))

I tried the new ink pads at my demo's house today. The color is very good, but it's definately going to take a different touch. And to go from the foam back to the old and then to foam....it's going to be hard to get used to that. And I inked up the edges from pressing too tightly... Practice makes perfect. I brought one home to play with.....

Is funny, but I couldn't open my Gumball ink pad neither, so thinking I was the problem I sat it aside for another day. I better get try it again and check all the other In Colors after reading this thread. Thanks!

I also had trouble but only with the Gumball Green. Got it open and then closed and opened it a few times. Not much easier but at least I didn't need tools to do so.

I have the new pads in all the colors. The only color that I had problems with was gumball green. I have opened it several times and it is getting easier. If you cannot get one open, call your demonstrator or SU on their toll free number. They should replace it. I have never had a problem with SU not replacing a product that was defective.

All of my new In Color ink pads open just fine....but I agree with "muscrat" that the new foam pads are going to take some getting used to. Especially going back & forth between the old pads and the new.
