It's a matter of preference. A lot can be done with all of them. If you have none at all. Look at your stamps...then choose which style you use the most to mat. Hobby Lobby seems to have a limited supply to choose from. I would start with Round scallops or Rectangle scallops. Watch out you will be hooked once you begin. Have fun choosing...Just my thoughts.

I bought the ovals first since I have a Cricut to cut circles, scalloped circles, squares and scalloped squares. I now have all of the most used shapes.

Besides HL - You can also sign-up for the VIP coupon (40% off retail price of $84.99 + shipping - comes to about $15 a set including shipping) at www.ucutathome.com. They will send you a coupon every month that you can use for the Nesties. I bought my complete set of ovals there. The only thing is that the Nesties are often backordered because they are so popular - I waited for over a month for mine, but well worth it.

In all, it just depends on what you use on your cards the most. Happy Shopping and enjoy the Nesties! They are addicting once you start using them!

BTW, instead of buying the tan mat for embossing, you can substitute a red rubber gasket you can buy at HD in the plumbing section. I think it was only $4 for a pack of 2 (they are size 6x6). You don't have to cut it down.

Here is my sandwich stack recipe:
- Plate A
- Plate B
- Cardstock/Nestie (smooth side down)
- Scrap Cardstock (2-3 on top of the nestie)
- Red rubber mat
- Plate B

Sometimes to get a good impression I add some folded up printer paper in between to get a snug fit between the Nestie and rubber mat (without breaking the plates - LOL!).

Have fun!

Circles today. Scalloped circles tomorrow. How's that? I also have ovals, small rectangles and a variety of shapeabilities. I use the circles/scalloped and ovals/scalloped most.

The decision was easier when I had to order them on-line. Now - Dang HL and dang their 40% coupons had me buying more of them than I can use! <laugh> I used to buy from Cut@Home - but with HL's coupon I can get them NOW!

The first ones that I bought at HL were the ovals. They didn't have a large selection and I wanted the scalloped ovals but they didn't have those. I also want the labels ones but I haven't seen them anywhere yet except online.

Please tell the store manager or department manager which one(s) you'd like. They seem very keen on ordering what the customers want to buy. I had a few special ordered for me - and didn't wind up buying (2 many at 1 time)- and they sold the next day anyway!
