name frames

Where is everyone finding the long narrow frames for name frames. I have looked at a couple stores and not really found anything. I want to make some of these for christmas presents. Kim

I had been looking for these around town with no success and then a friend of mine said that creative memories (scrapbooking home-based parties I thought) is starting framing and that if I checked with a CM person they could get custom made frames way cheap. She didn't mention how cheap "way cheap" was, and I've been too lazy to check any more, but you might look into it. Nice how I give you the info and make you do the leg work! lol! I'll be checking back to see what you find out :) Maybe someone else has a faster solution! :)

I've made two so far and bought both at Target. One was alittle on the pricier side, one was about $10. I figure, with the paper and other embellishments, it makes a nice $20-25 gift. I'd also suggest checking out Aaron Brothers for their great sales, and also garage sales--looking specifically for the frame, not the picture inside. Good luck--I've had SO much fun making mine.

Lots of Department Stores like Target, K-Mart, etc... sell the panoramic frames for the "once popular" size of printing. They work nicely if you are using a smaller alphabet. However I've found great frames for names and welcomes and "foyer decoration" at AC Moore and Michaels in their frame departments. You can sometimes get them on sale for as little as a few dollars a piece, and I think THAT is way cheap! Good Luck!

I usually get mine at Walmart. They are 5x12 and usually come with a mat for two 4x6 or 3x5 photos and are only about $3.

Check out the dollar stores, like Dollar General and Dollar Tree. I found some long narrow wood framed pictures for only $1. They have rather insipid landscapes and flower prints inside. You just take them apart, remove the picture and insert your decorated name sheet.

I had found them at Mike's but have not seen them in a while. I'll have to check out a dollar store!

I found my latest ones at The Dollar Tree... each is about 5x12 (inside measurement) with wooden frames (various colors) and includes glass (not acetate). These are a perfect size for designer papers so that I don't have to piece together the background :) Oh, and they are designed to either free-stand on a shelf or for hanging... a bonus!

Good luck, and do have a FUNtastic time creating your name frames.

I'm with Emily - Walmart is where I've found all of mine for $3! I'd love to find them somewhere else, but haven't had any luck.
