Hope I am in the right place to ask this question. My Martha Stewart fern punch recently broke. I loved that punch and have not been able to find a replacement. Where should I look? Or... heaven forbid, it is discontinued! I am kind of new at asking questions in a forum......... Thanks to everyone and anyone who can direct me to finding a fern punch.
I heard it's been discontinued. I am so sorry. I feel bad for bearing the news to you. I know that McGill's has a similar one. It's slightly bigger. There is a similar cut on the Sponge Bob Cricut cartridge if that helps any.
Thanks for the info and the great site to search for a fern leaf punch. Haven't had much time to do a thorough search yet. I am so impressed with Splitcoast... have had only a couple of questions and have received an answer pronto!!! Many thanks!
I found a fern punch!!!! It is a McGill and almost like the MS punch. What a great site you steered me to. There were soooooo many toys to choose from. I will still look for the MS punch, though. Would hate to be without my ferns!! The site that I visited and ordered from this time was [email protected] The overstock.com site is immense! I will surely look there again (and again and again!! lol )

I thought it was discontinued too , but I asked Joan at Joan's Garden and she checked with her rep and was told it is NOT discontinued even though it is not on the MS or EK Success sites. I got one from Joan

This is good news. I knew WalMart stopped carrying them when Martha ended her contract with them. I thought we would see the fern punch at Michael's. Then there was the rumors from various LSS that it was discontinued. Of course that flew across all the MB's. I am glad to see that some of the online stores are still stocking it. That is a must have punch.
My McGill fern punch was delivered today! Extremely fast service. It is twice the size of the MS fern punch, but that's okay. The MS punch is still my favorite. If anyone knows a direct link to a site where the MS fern punch can be ordered... I sure would appreciate it! Many thanks to all of you for the information.
Well, here I am again talking about my fern punch. I received a McGill punch through cistamps and was very excited about it. Didn't have time to stamp or punch until today. Boohoo! My new McGill punch does not work. I've tried to punch wax paper. Ha! Nothing! I could get the stamp to punch when nothing was in it, but slip a thin piece of paper in it or even wax paper ( was told this might help to "lubricate" it ) and nothing. It is hardly worth the $$ to send it back. Can you tell I'm upset. The good thing is I did find a MS fern stamp at Crop Stop! Have yet to order that... you know the saying: once burned....
Ah, well... life goes on
Okay lovely stampers.... I need your help again. I guess my brain left on vacation and I forgot to go with it. Apparently I am looking for the Martha Stewart pine branch, small version,. I thought it was a fern punch. Aaaarrrrggghhh!!! I've searched and searched for pictures.... found one and lost it (typical for the month I have been having). The McGill pine branch is great but it doesn't punch anything... again, an example of how things have gone this month. I am waiting to hear from that company. And, on that note, what is the life expectancy of a punch. I really, truly do not mistreat them. I have had only two punches that refuse to Punch. Do you stampers regularly lubricate them or sharpen them (wax paper and/or alum. foil). Thank you to all of you who may comment!

There are 2?? I didn't know that. My MS punch just said " Branch" it doesn't say pine or fern. I cut out the names from the boxes and tape them to my punches
For any of the McGill punches to punch through anything other than 20# copy weight paper you need to buy a punch aid. There was along thread on this topic.
I have never lubricated my punches or sharpened them by punching through aluminum foil and they all work fine
I bought mine at WalMart, but as you know they don't stock them anymore.
Mary
That is exactly what mine looks like and I bought it recently from Joan's Garden for $9.99. They are not rare! Joan checked with her MS rep and was told she can reorder them any time http://joanscreations.blogspot.com/
You just email or call Joan Fricker with what you want to buy. The email address and tel number are on the site.
After every project I do sharpen my punches with foil and then use wax paper to keep them smooth.
Some punches just break due to a faulty mechanism from the manufacturing line, or a simple user error. I had the MS Circle punch that shattered in my hand. Michael's let me replace it even though I didn't have the receipt.
I have a Marvy Uchida Giga Scallop Punch that is still going strong. I use it constantly. I thought that one would have broke years ago due to that I love it so much.
I would contact Martha Stewart and tell them your punch broke. They may be able to help you. I LOVE her punches and they don't seem to hold up very well. Great Designs poor quality. Maybe she should consider having them made in the US instead of China....

Thank you to everyone who has helped me find my dear Martha Stewart pine branch punch. I found one, ordered it and received it from Joan's Gardens. Hurray! I also received a replacement McGill punch from that company for the larger pine branch. Don't know how that happeed, but I think it was due to the very nice people at CropStop! Thanks to them. Also!!! get this: Wilton Company contacted me after an inquiry email about the Martha Stewart punches.... they will replace them after I send in the broken punches (which are on their way!) Thanks Wilton Company. Ahhhh.... life is getting better. I think February is near! (and spring cannot be too far behind!) Now, I think I am "punch drunk!" LOL Again.... thank you splitcoast stampers!!!!!!

WOW - that is great service!!! Thank you for telling us your happy ending!!
I am happy you got your punch. You may have gotten the last one that Joan had.
When I spoke to Joan to order some thing else she told me now her distributor said the manufacturer is no longer making them. She has been ordering them in lots of 25 and she is out of them . She put in a call to her MS rep to question this information , but has not heard back from her.
She said if she can get more she will list them on her site.
So getting your MS branch punch may be better news than you realized
Wow! I sure hope that the pine branch punch is never discontinued. If it is, they better come up with something that is equally terrific.
I need to give accolades to the right company for replacing my McGill punch. It is Creative Images. Just received a wonderful email from them that says "they like to take care of their customers." Wonderful company.... I don't always hear of companies that do that. So: Cheers to CI!
Hey, McBenJam... hope to meet you one day! I have fellow stamping friends in BG also. Maybe we'll run into each other in Hobby Lobby or Michaels or........
This was an adventure... again, thank you to everyone for your help.

If you call McGill and let us know you are having an issue with that punch we will replace it. We have recently changed all of our punches to the lever style. Not sure which one you have but if you are having issues with any of our punches please give us a call so we can make it right.
I bought a McGill one and it went in the bin - it wouldn't cut properly at all. I have an EK success border punch that also doesn't cut fully - these 'toys' are so infuriating. We spend so much on craft stuff especially here in the UK where we pay in what you pay in $$. I can't find the fine pine branch punch from MS in the UK at all.
I know how you feel. I have a lot of Martha Stewart's punches and love them. I did buy one which would not punch. It didn't matter how thin the paper was......it just wouldn't work. So, I returned it to the store and got a refund the same day. I think it was one of the deep edge punches but I'm not positive about that. The cashier said that this particular punch was returned by many customers for the same reason. I guess no matter what the brand, some items just don't always work.
I have been happily punching with my replacement punches for several weeks, now. I don't know why some punches work, and some don't, but have a hunch that it is not an uncommon problem, especially when some of these tools are so intricately designed. I hope, Madswapper, that you will contact the company about your punches and can get replacements.
Had a horrible experience with my MS lattice heart punch-and I will NEVER buy MS products again. It ate some very nice paper, and of course there's no way to open it-DH took it back to Michael's-no one there had a clue how to fix it. He wasted an hour of his time, and I was so disappointed as I was in the middle of a project for several anniversary cards and I wanted them to be special. So sorry, MS (Yes, I know she doesn't read this and her punches are made by another company). Finally he just broke the punch, and my shredded paper was stuck inside.
