Just so you guys know....at Michaels, if they are out of an item (a REGULAR item...NOT a seasonal or clearanced item) you can ask for a raincheck. When the item comes in, they will hold one for you and give you a call.
When you ask for a raincheck and you happen to have a coupon....give them the coupon to staple to the raincheck....then when you get the item they will let you use the coupon.

Hey I never thought of that! Thanks for reminding me about rainchecks. I just did that at Target for some yummy shortbread cookies.
I got some really good border punches which I googled and came up from Amazon. Got free shipping and good prices on Maple Leaf corner and border punch , the border with the snowman, and the one with the winter village I really wanted.
I have the scoreboard from Martha Stewart and I didn't know about the raincheck thing . Thanks.
You go, girl. They are all over the MS shelves in Charlotte, NC. Can't explain it; we're usually the last to get anything, but the last time I was in my M's (2 of them), they were each stocked.
It's funny you mention that. I bought mine over 2 months ago at the Rock Hill,SC store when we were up in Charlotte for the day. You guys got it a good month before we had it here in GA.
I agree with you. I wish I would've waited on the Scor-Pal. I use the MS board every time now. My Scor-Pal is collecting dust.
I had one of these in my hands in Michaels about a month ago, however I put it back because of what I read here.. that the scoring tool wears out quickly, that it was easy to 'jump' tracks from track to another. Also it didn't look very sturdy... anyone ??
I got one and took it back for the same reasons. However, I have and LOVE my Scor-Pal, so I've been spoiled.
If I did not have a scoring tool and had never used a Scor-Pal, I would jump at the $12 (with coupon) Martha score board, though. You can't beat that price, and it's not a bad machine or a waste of money, IMO, it just doesn't "feel right" to me.
I do wish the SP had the lines every 1/4 inch (1/8 was a little busy for me). I know why they're set up the way they are, but I'd prefer something similar to the MS board as far as line placement.

I have the ScorPal and love using it! I recently bought MS board and love it too. In my opinion you have to get use to the "feel" of the board, (which I thus far have not found to be a problem) and the scor tool. I learned that u must hold the tool with a good grip and it will stay on track. I see no evidence of the tool wearing out too quickly either. I love it! I love them both in fact. I say buy it! Especially with a coupon, think I paid 11 or 12 dollars for it.
I was recently in Paduca TN and found one in Michaels there. Used my 40% off coupon. Don't know how far you are from there, but there was only one left. I'm sure they will be getting more in as it is a very popular item.
I own both and I like the Score-pal tool much better. MS's board does have more lines, but the paper jumped and the tool was very flimsy. I will keep both. I think they both have good points.
This thread really isn't a comparison thread. I'm trying to find one for myself. It seems like there are some other folks looking for them. Help us out?
I did finally get one from Michael's, I too have been looking online, no success. But I also like the suggestion (if there is one near you) of asking for a raincheck at Michaels. Then if they come in they hold it. For those of you who have yet to find it that might work. Regarding the comparisons, that is the only reason I bought one at all. The comparisons. Without them I would never have ventured or investigated. So my thanks to those who did.
I think there is a very small learning curve to running the scoring tool and keeping it where you want it. You have to hold it up at just the right angle, use just the right pressure etc. If you use your tools though, it will soon be second nature. I love scoring so my card-stock doesn't crack!

Has anyone found a measurement chart for MS Scoring Board? I know there are a few on the corner piece, but I am trying to find more. I am really looking for 5 inch square card.

The board has one built in. Is that what you mean?

www.twopeasinabucket.com has it in stock for $19.99. Free shipping over $50 with the code on their website. So, if you buy 2 and add just over $10 more of product, free shipping. That's the price that it usually sells for at my M's without a coupon.
I was finally able to snag one at Michael's last month with 60% off - only $8. I do already have a Score Pal, but I LOVE the MS one! I don't love the score tool so much, but I just use my Stampin' Up! bone folder with it and it works perfectly. I could do with less score lines as you really have to double-check which line you are on, but I don't miss the math "adjustments" with the Score Pal!
I finally located a MS score board at a Michael's...they are very difficult to find!! I am thinking the Scor-pal people have felt the pinch from MS as they have theirs on sale for $29.99 (plus shipping I'm sure.) I totally LOVE the 1/8" lines and I use a stylus tool that I can hold more like a pencil than the tool that comes with it....just personal preference. Soooo glad I held out on the scor-pal...I just thought it was too expensive. Got the MS one for $10 with a 50% off Mike's coupon. Deal, deal, deal!!!
I have the MS scoring board and love it. The tool that comes with it hurts my finger, though, so I use a metal embossing stylus. ...The kind that is double-ended with a different sized ball-tip on each end (but NOT the roller-ball kind). The tips fit perfectly into the score lines with no jumping, and it's easier on your index finger!

That is exactly the same kind of stylus I use and it works perfectly!!

I'm with you. 1/8 is too much. 1/4 would be JUST RIGHT. I really hope Scor Pal is reading this thread! (I have an orignal.)
Hi Girls, I have a scor pal and MS score board, both have pros and cons, but I use both. I ordered my MS score board from here: http://www.7kidscollegefund.com, they were great to work with, have lots of other stuff too. Oh, yea, it was on sale from them too. Check them out!
I LOVE the 1/8th inch on the Martha Stewart score board! I want everything in 1/8 in! lol I've been using it to make envelopes and using the 1/8 inch for more of a box-like envelope. I use my teflon bone folder with it though. The one that comes with it is flimsy.
I bought mine from 7kidscollegefund.com
I LOVE it!

They had them at the Michael's in Austin. I'm hoping they still have it on Sunday so I can use my 50% off coupon.
Also, here's a really nice website that shows you the difference between it and the Scor-Pal. I have both the Scor-Pal and the Scor-Buddy and I'm still buying this one.
