I am wondering if anyone knows wher eI can find this product online. I don't even know for sure if that is what it is called. It is amazing though with its 1/8 score lines. Thanks for the help!
I just picked one of these up last week - I have a Scor-Pal too, but thought this looked more intricate with all the "extra" score lines that the Scor-Pal doesn't have. It also comes with an add-on piece that helps you make envelopes. Sorry to say though, that I got mine at M's with their big sale a couple weeks back. I was standing in line beside the Martha stuff and there it was, calling my name!!! Hope you ladies find them.
Wow! I have not heard of this before... I have kept myself from buying or even thinking about buying a Scor-Pal b/c it's so expensive and I always think of better things to spend my $ on... However, this MS Score board may be too cool to pass up with a price that is just right!!! Thanks for enabling me! :p

I got lucky and walked in when Michaels had just put some out. I got it with 40 percent off coupon. But I would have paid the $19.99 for it anyway. I put off buying a Scor-Pal because of the price and stuff, so I thought I'd try this. I absolutely love it!!!

I had one of these in my hands in Michaels about a month ago, however I put it back because of what I read here.. that the scoring tool wears out quickly, that it was easy to 'jump' tracks from track to another. Also it didn't look very sturdy... anyone ??
I don't know of anyplace else to get them except at Michael's...sorry!
to dkc: I bought one of Martha's after holding off on the Scor-Pal because of cost. With a coupon the MS board was affordable. Like you, I read many posts out here comparing the two...and reading the pros and cons of each.
Having never used the Scor-pal, I can say I am happy with the MS. Yes, the scoring tool is "flimsy" compared to the bone folder from SU that I am used to holding in my hand. I don't do A LOT of scoring all at once so for me it's workable. I found it easy to use with something thin like Designer Paper.
However; when I tried scoring on my SU weight card stock, I did jump out of the track. I switched to my heavier bone folder; and made myself go slower and was able to stay in the track. This is okay for me because again; I am a hobby crafter only and don't need to score lots of things as quickly as possible.
In summary, everything you've read out here both pro and con about the Martha Stewart scoring board I find to be true. You just have to decide if the "pros" are enough to make you happy and able to live with the "cons". Good luck!
I was at M's here in Calgary yesterday and the manager was awesome. He looked up the skew (once we found it - apparently I bought the only one they had in stock last week and there wasn't even a tag on the shelf for it!!) and there isn't ONE to be found in all of Alberta. He did mention to me that it was showing up as a seasonal product - REALLY? That would truly suck!!
Here is another suggestion ladies - I know that at Wally World - they sell Martha stuff - anyone tried checking there?
I bought mine at Michaels and I love it. I had read the reviews here and was not really sure if I would be wasting my money or not. The manager told me to get it and if it did not work, then return it. I am really glad that I got it because it was the only one in the store and I have not seen another one in over six weeks. I have never used a ScorPal but for the money I think it is well worth it.
I just bought the MS score board and I love it! I love being able to put score lines so close together. And I love the envelope maker, easy, easy easy!
i've tried two ms here in our area and i keep being told that they have never heard or seen it! does any one maybe know the sku # that may help to see if they have it in my area! Thanks

A new hand to hold, a new heart to love, a new life to lead.
I still have the packaging from mine bought at my local Michael's. It is the Martha Stewart Crafts Scoring Board. On the back is this number: 42-05002 with the words "scoring board" underneath. That is right above the bar code. Under the bar code are these numbers: 15586 83820. Hope this helps.
I have both the Scor-Pal and the MS Score Board and I have to say, I really like the MS one more. I LOVE the 1/8 inch score lines! I just use a regular bone folder and score slowly so it doesn't jump. I also love the envelope tool.
The Scor-Pal was a Christmas gift last year so I'm not really 'out' anything, but I wish I would've waited until the MS one came out. I don't even use my Scor-Pal anymore.
I have both also but I can't imagine it being a seasonable item! I use my scorepal all the time but the Martha Stewart one, which I bought with a coupon, lets me score lines closer together.
I have the Scor-pal, the Score it board, and MS score board and actually I think I like the MS board over the scor-pal. You do have to slow down a bit when using it but I'm willing to take a few breaths to get all the measurements as opposed to the Score-pal adjusting paper to compensate for the missing sizes. Martha has really done a great job of getting into the craft business. Just an FYI I love all her new larger punches and around the page punches too. Awesome - my new craft room will have a designated pull out drawer just for Martha's punches!
I picked up the last MS score board and I love it! I struggled with my friend's Scor-pal and swore I did not need a tool like that, but the thinner scoring tool seems to work better for me. And the envelope tool is super easy to use - a perfect way to use up those huge value packs of flimsy DP that I bought when I first started cardmaking and didn't realize the difference.

dkc, I didn't see where anyone else replied to your questions, so I'll give it a shot for you.
I have them both and personally MUCH prefer my MS.
Scoring tool weaing out: I can't answer to others' discontents, but I find that the scoring tool is the key b/c it's so thin and yields such nice deep scores. Perhaps the narrowness might make it wear out, but who has had one long enough to know? I did look the last time I was @ the craft store to see if there were replacements (I had wondered myself how long that thin tip would take to flatten out). There are some with thin tips as well, although not MS, but that doesn't bother me. Personally I don't care if it will wear out with time; are you going to not drive your car b/c you'll have to refuel? Besides, you know Martha; if replacements are needed (and she'll make $ by selling them), she'll make them!
Placement of lines: As for the board itself, I love the lines; so often my Scor-Pal didn't have what I needed.
I often had to rethink the measurements to find a line that would work, or just hold my project against the top, away from the safety of the left edge to use a line, and then risk it shifting while I was working (ugh). Because of that, it's so much easier to use than the Scor-Pal.
Sturdiness. It's every bit as sturdy as a Scor-Pal, and aren't you using it on a table top anyway?
My only regret is that she came out with this AFTER I bought myself and each of my sisters a Scor-Pal. I wouldn't call myself a MS fan in general, although I own some of her stuff and lots and lots of her punches, but I would say, at least for me, this is the best thing she's made!
For those of you who are still looking, all I can say is that from what I see they are becoming more and more prevalent, keep looking you'll have your "FINALLY!" moment soon.
The email that I rec'd from the MS site was that they are on backorder from the manufacturer and will be released again in mid January. I really want one now though LOL.
anyone know of anything else this hard to get in the craft store. you would think they only made a couple of hundred of these to ship to every Michaels!
Hmm, I was at Michael's a couple of weeks ago and there was one MS score board left, so I snatched it up with every intention of sending it to my MIL for Christmas. But I hadn't gotten my FIL something yet and really didn't have any ideas for him. Long story short, I ordered something for my FIL from Amazon, so I also bought a ScorPal (couldn't find an MS board on Amazon) and had it shipped directly. So now I am the owner of the Scor Pal and the MS scoring tool. This thread has talked me into keeping it.. now I'm looking forward to trying it!
I was looking for the Martha Stewart snow village punch and googled it and by George it came up on Amazon. I have both scoring tools also but haven't used the Martha one yet. Do like the different sizes though. At a recent class we had to move things around on the Scorepal to get the right measurements.
My local Michael's store has been out since before Thanksgiving. I asked today when they would get more in. The girl tried to tell me that if they sell all of them the computer automatically orders more. When I explained how long they have been out she then tried to tell me that it probably has been discountinued. UGH!!!!
Makes me mad when the help has no idea what to say. I work retail and if I don't know the answer for a customer I at least be honest and not lie my way through. I am going to have to just keep looking and waiting.
Melony i hear ya! And why can't stand when people just say "I have no idea!" It galls me! I have got in the habit if I ask for something in a store, and am told, "oh, we're out of that", I always look myself, and have actually found the item, just not where i expected. I then go and find the person who I originally asked, and take them to the item and say, "just wanted to let you know, this is the item I was looking for, so you know where it is." very sweetly of course. but I never let them get away with that!
I have been checking for weeks now at my local M's for the MS scoreboard, and they haven't had it yet, but today hubby and I went to a different city to christmas shop today and found one at that m's! can't wait to use it! I too held off buying the scor pal! used my coupon so I got the MS scoreboard for $9.99!

You go, girl. They are all over the MS shelves in Charlotte, NC. Can't explain it; we're usually the last to get anything, but the last time I was in my M's (2 of them), they were each stocked.
