Yeah...probably a bad time of the month for this to happen...and it's really NO WHERE NEAR my most costly mistake...
But yesterday I was stamping images like crazy for my stamp-inventory-binder-thingy...and I was trying to decide between True Thyme and Always Artichoke...so I pulled out the TT refill...making my big decision. So I thought. Then I pulled out the ink pad...stamped once, and decided I might as well refill it first. Got it all nice and juicy...AND THEN REALIZED...the ink pad was the Always Artichoke one!!!!
I am still mad. I use AA all the time! Now I have to add it to my SAB order...
I guess it could be worse...it could have been AA in the TT pad...which is a little harder to come by. But still, I wasted a whole ink pad, plus 1/3 bottle of TT inker. :-(
Tell me you have a similar story??? The kind that makes your tummy flip and costs you a few $. Make me smile!! LOL

I'm really bad about putting stuff away after a stamping session, so when I can't find something I assume it's under a pile of stuff. I couldn't find any of my StazOn refills and after a while bought all new ones. Then my first set turned up in a plastic box, standing neatly in a row, on shelf where they belong. That was some money down the drain.

That's just what I was going to say. Wash the pad under running water and dry well with papertowels or leave open to dry out for a few days. Reink with the right color, and there you go! Don't throw it out.
Rinsing out and reinking a pad is a serious pain in the rear -- I've done it before! Sure it's two or three bucks cheaper, but you're out the use of your ink pad for at least three or four days while you wait for it to completely dry so as not to dilute the new ink. Then you have to remember to order a replacement reinker, assuming you even had the one you needed to begin with. I consider my time to have a dollar value, so if this situation ever arose again I'd just suck it up and buy a new ink pad.

I was wondering...is the combo of the colors pretty together?? I believe in happy accidents....maybe you could use the pad the way it is and put the two colors together a lot...since you use AA so much!! Just a thought.

I lost my full SD card of photos on the way to get them printed. The really horrible part about it is that they were photos of my nephew, who two weeks later was killed in a car accident. That was in August and the SD card has still yet to show up.
On a lighter note, Always Thyme does sound like a pretty color.

I said make me laugh...not actually start crying! :(
I am so sorry...what horrible timing on the loss of photos! Not to mention the loss of a loved one!

I lost my Canon PowerShot Elph camera with a full memory card in it. :(
I've turned the house upside down and a year later, it still has not shown up. I think I left it in a backpack that I threw out.
Look inside the couch. I speak from experience. My daughter had a ballet performance last May along with her b-day sleepover w/friends and a few other happy events on our camera's SD card. Could not, for the life of me, find my camera after the ballet performance. We got a new camera at the end of July as we were going on a vacation to see our grandbaby in August. In November, TWO days after buying my daughter a camera to bring to France, I tipped the couch up to look for toy mice for the cats. I heard a clunk inside the couch, got curious, and cut open the fabric underneath the couch, and found, among other things, a household size flashlight, my MISSING CAMERA with the SD card, and a small bottle of lotion. We now have THREE cameras. And a whole lot of meaningful pics.

Check the Recliners too! We have two large leather ones, that eat, phones, remoted controlls, cameras, etc. I swear they are not in there and a week later I find them there!
I did a very similar thing myself a few months ago. I was stamping away with my Cloe to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip ink pads and the Chocolate Chip was in need of some reinker. So I reink, stamp, reink some more, still not quite dark enough, rein a little more, then realised I was reinking the Close to Cocoa pad with the Choc Chip ink! I was soooo mad at myself. I use both of these constantly... I did end up buying a new Close to Cocoa pad, but now I have 2 Choc Chip pads, which does come in handy at Stamp Club meetings.
1. Check and re-check the ink pad color and the reinker color BEFORE reinking. (thanks!)
2. Do not take a camera card to the printer without first uploading the photos to the computer. (Just in case the card gets lost)
3. Keep the camera on my wrist - don't lay it down anywhere near a couch or recliner so it doesn't get "eaten."
4. Check the insides of all bags before throwing them out.

Now if I can only remember this list.
Julie...better subscribe to this thread so that you can find your list again ;) !
And I would add after your #2: Do not erase the card, even if the pictures are on your computer, until you have them burned to a disk (Ask my DD how I know that!)
